“Went and had a hearing test, the doctor said I had definite hearing loss, that she wanted to refer me to a Nose ear throat doctor to check my hearing due to the severity of hearing loss. I said yes please. I waited about 3 weeks and did not hear from no one. I called the Kalamazoo office and asked about the referral and the person answered the phone said that there was no referral in my chart and that my insurance did not cover hearing aids! I triple checked my insurance and YES they cover them. So I will go to another hearing center to have my hearing check and hopefully they will be more communication than Constance Brown hearing. Remember customers are what pay your paycheck! This is one customer that will not walk back in your doors”
Received 12/05/2017Official Response from Constance Brown Hearing Centers:“Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We regret that you had an upsetting experience with us, Scott. We never want patients to have a negative experience so please accept our sincerest apology. We’d like to contact you to hear more about your experience and discuss opportunities with our Clinical Director to help you address your hearing loss.”
“It was good. I was treated real nicely and she let me know what was going on and how to take care of them myself. She was very informative. She let me know all about the products, how they worked, how to take care of them. She explained everything really explicitly so I had nothing to worry about. She was very nice.”
“While visiting with my son my left hearing aid needed serviced. He called and I was given a same day 2:30 appt. not only was my problem fixed, they checked my R aid and serviced it also. Very courteous and friendly. Most impressive. So happy to know they will be there if I need them again. Thank you so much”
“She was sincere, tried her best to make it work for my hearing. ”
“These people aren't upfront about costs. While I was there for an appointment the tech asked if I wanted my hearing aids checked. No costs were mentioned. It seemed reasonable since I bought them there. I thought it was part of the check up I was there for. Then leaving I was hit with an extra $50 I didn't expect. I felt taken advantage of. Since my appointment I've found other people I know that go there saying the same thing happened to them. They made extra money that time but I won't be back as a customer in the future. If they ask to do anything for you be sure to ask about the costs. ”
Received 03/19/2018Official Response from Constance Brown Hearing Centers:“We at Constance Brown Hearing Centers are sorry that you feel that we have taken advantage of you - that certainly would not be our intent. I would like to address your concerns and clarify with additional information. Appointments are scheduled with our audiologists, who have years of training and have a Masters or Doctorate of Audiology degree. They are not technicians. Keeping our costs low and only charging for services as needed is our pricing philosophy. The cost of hearing aids at our Center includes 2 years of service for the hearing aid(s). If services are needed beyond this time frame, we do charge for the services performed. If cost is a concern, it is best for patients discuss this at the beginning of the appointment, especially when the hearing aid is out of the 2 year warranty. ”
