Dr. Heather Hendrix holds a Doctorate in Audiology from Louisiana Tech University and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Language Pathology from Columbia College. She is a native of Newberry and is happy to be helping people hear better in her hometown. She works with the patients in our Newberry and Greenwood offices.

“My first appt. on February 26th was fine. The staff was friendly, helpful and pleasant. I had a hearing test and saw Dr. Rust. I went back today to look at hearing aids and possibly be fitted. My apt was at 10:00 am. I arrived about 10 minutes early. I waited from 10:00 am until 10:35 to be seen. I even asked at one point how much longer it would be. When I was finally taken back the Audiologist said "sorry" only after I commented that I was about to give up on them. She went on to tell me that they did not have my appointment on the schedule. I was so surprised by the lack of customer service since I was there to potentially purchase hearing aids. I would have thought that either the receptionist or the Audiologist wood have made a sincere apology for my wait time and the fact that they had failed to put me on the schedule but that did not happen. Dr. Rust was great as were the staff that did my actual hearing tests at my first appointment. I also would like to mention that the Audiologists and the physicians need to get on the same page. My impression at the first appointment was that I needed hearing aids, but at my second appointment I left feeling I did not need them. Now I am confused and will be seeking further information before making this decision. ”

“Dear Rosemary, Thank you for your honest review of our office and for bringing these matters to our attention. We apologize that you had to wait so long for your appointment. As a provider in a medical field, we do at times tend to run behind schedule due to unforeseen circumstances with our patients. We do our best to accommodate each patient during their appointment time frame. We offer you our sincerest apologies for our scheduling mistake that contributed to your extended wait time. We take patient care very seriously at our office and are sorry that you had to wait so long to be seen. We apologize that your visit with our medical doctors and audiologists left you confused about whether or not you should proceed with hearing aids. We encourage patients to ask as many questions as they need to in our hearing aid consultations and also give patients our office cards in case any questions should arise after the appointment. The consultation is where our audiologists get in depth information about the impact a patient's hearing loss has on their daily life. It is the consultation that often reveals information about a patient that may cause the audiologist to suggest an alternative solution or conclusion that contradicts a previous suggestion. We hope this clarifies why the medical providers and audiologists provided you with conflicting messages. Again we apologize for the wait time you had to experience at our office and for your confusion after your appointments. If you have any more questions, we highly encourage you to call our office and speak with our Doctors of Audiology. Thank you for your patience and your time.
