“I'm very pleased with Hearing Health Center. None of my appointments have been rushed, and the Hearing Health Center team is willing to take the time to answer my questions. One surprise: after my hearing test ( and I've had them before with other providers), this is the first time the test results were explained in a way I could understand. I was also impressed with the variety of hearing aids and Dr. Fisher's ability to ask the right questions to zero in on the choices that would work best for me. No one in my family had ever had hearing aids, so this hearing aid adventure was new to me. I was also surprised that I was not rushed to decide. I could try different hearing aid samples and judge what would work best. I had problems inserting a hearing device in one ear, but I was put at ease, and the doctor was beneficial and patient until I was comfortable inserting the device in by myself. Michelle, the Audiology Assistant, has also been very helpful. She has been the go-to, to troubleshoot any issues and problems. Lastly, I must mention how excellent Paige, the Office Manager, has been. I had an insurance issue, and she was able to help. When I called in needing an emergency appointment, Paige was accommodating. I had just gotten my hearing aids and was leaving town five days later, and I had a problem getting them to work correctly (user error, not equipment). Paige worked her magic and got me in at the last minute so I could get the help I needed before I left town. I highly recommend Hearing Health Center. If you have a hearing issue or just need a hearing test, this is the place to go. ”

Never went over my test and comparisons to past tests. It felt like all she wanted was sale. “I have been suffering from tinnitus for over five years and visited an audiologist before being recommended by a friend (a patient at Hearing Health Center of Oak Brook), encouraging me to get a second evaluation last year at OB Hearing Health Center. From the start, I received compassion and understanding, as I had unsuccessfully tried acupuncture, natural supplements, while an evaluation and hearing test was conducted by Dr. Risley, and options to consider my hearing issue. Working with the friendly, wonderful clinic-office staff and excellent audiologist and assistant, my tinnitus was addressed with some education to consider hearing aid options available that can increase the higher frequencies (which I am loosing) and attenuate (reduce) the tinnitus intensity. With the Office Manager's professional and keen experience, she worked patiently with my insurance company to approve the cost of hearing aids, and I am SO HAPPY with these Starkey hearing aids, FINALLY achieving more clarity with higher frequencies, hearing better and some relief from the screeching tinnitus in my head! It takes some time to get used to wearing hearing aids but they are a life-saver. “Dee at the front desk is always helpful and friendly. I made my appointment to see Dr Risley. Upon arrival I was told by Dee that I would not be seeing Dr. Risley, but an assistant, Ashley. Ashley did fine with the cleaning and reprogramming. However, I was disappointed that Risley did not perform the services. My appointment was with him, he was sitting in his office and did not even acknowledge my presence to further indicate that interim cleanings and programming would be performed by a tech. When I paid $6,000+ for the aids I was led to believe that I would be seeing a doctor at least twice a year. Somewhat disappointing.”
