Licensed Hearing Aid Specialist

Patricia Schmiesing is an Ohio-licensed Hearing Aid Specialist with years of experience helping people hear better. “I will not be back to Hearing Professionals. Purchased hearing aids here, which are much more expensive then others, because of the SELLING point that my supplies would be included. Went in today to get my supplies and it was brought to my attention that in October their policy changed, that supplies are no longer included in the purchase price that I paid and that it was only a courtesy, I would now have to pay for my supplies. When asked if a courtesy letter went out to their clients to advise them of this new policy the answer was NO. I told the receptionist that a courtesy letter would have been appreciated to let your clients know of your policy change. This would be the normal with any other policy change companies make. When the receptionist gave me my supplies she only gave me 8 months worth instead of 12 that I asked to pay for trying to tell me that I don't need to change my supplies as often as I was if I am keeping my hearing aids clean. Tried to tell her that I wear them 10-12 hours per day and in the being it was suppose to be noted in my chart that I was wearing them an extensive amount of time and would be using more supplies, she still insisted that this is what they give out for a year supply. So I got 16 domes to last me 12 months and 16 wax protections to last the same. I guess they saw they were loosing money so decided to put the expense on the consumer instead of honoring their selling point. So very disappointed!”

“The only reason this firm gets a 1 is because the staff is friendly. The rest is downhill from there. They make promises they do not follow through on. They take advantage of elders and then take away what they promised. A family member spent a lot of money and they can't even provide 6 months of free batteries even though the contract stated 5 years! We will definitely take our business elsewhere. ”

“I purchased my hearing aid 5 years ago. Hear professionals have for the last three years put a good deal of pressure on me to buy new ones. When ask why they given a number of questionable reasons to which I have rejected. They admitted my hearing has not changed and my aid still perform to same as new. I have encountered pushy ruddiness as a result. They persuaded my 90 year mother and sister into buying new ones for her when hers were only two years old. I have a feeling that they are praying on venerable people and are selling unnecessary aids to timid customers. By the way mom says now that her old ones were just as effective. Final line was crossed when I went to get new batteries the other day and they told me that they were reneging on our original agreement through the fine print at the bottom of the original contract and I would need to pay for them. OK, how much, $75 for a box of them! I just bought the same identical batteries through Ebay for $15. What a foolish policy! One of these days I will need to replace my hearing aids but not at Hearing Professionals!”

“A generally cool atmosphere coupled with many calls to come in for 6 month checkups and to upgrade to the latest technology. 6 month checkups with some technicians require sitting through the same presentation as when aids were purchased, likely because of anticipated commissions for upgrades. Free batteries now limited to 5 years; no notification of this was made until last time I went in for the batteries. Receptionist agreed it would have been good from customer relations standpoint to have notified folks of this. ”
