Karen Herring earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1984 in Audiology and Speech Pathology after completing a practicum at United Hospital's Medical Center as part of the Department of Audiology and also as part of the interdisciplinary team for the Cleft Palate population.

Karen then went on to earn a Master of Science Degree in 1985 in Audiology after completing a rotation through Cooper Hospital's Audiology Department.

She has several years of experience with various diagnostic testing, including Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response (BAER) and Electronystagmography (ENG) while working in Private Audiology and Otolaryngology practices.

She has over 28 years of experience with hearing aid dispensing, repairing and programming of advanced digital devices.
