Doctor of Audiology Jeffrey Shannon earned his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Dayton in Ohio and worked as an engineer and math and science teacher for several years. Then he returned to school, earning his Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. He then began his career helping people hear better at the Veterans Administration National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research in Portland, Oregon, where he helped develop and improve diagnostic testing, treatment devices, and management services for veterans with hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and auditory processing problems. When he returned to his homestate of New York, Dr. Shannon joined Dr. Loavenbruck at Hudson Valley Audiology to offer the highest level of hearing healthcare to his patients in Rockland County and the surrounding community. He is extremely active in audiology professional organizations. He and his wife Erin, a Speech-Language pathologist in the Nyack Public Schools, currently live in New City and are members of St. Augustine’s Church in New City. They are proud parents of a son and a daughter.
Dr. Millicent Quevedo was born and raised in New York, and received her undergraduate degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from the University of Connecticut. She continued her education at Montclair State University where she earned her Doctorate of Audiology.
Dr. Quevedo specializes in treatment of hearing loss for the adult and pediatric population, and enjoys working with children diagnosed with or being evaluated for autism spectrum disorder. She practices an individualized approach to treatment of hearing loss which involves working closely with her patients and their loved ones as a team to improve quality of life and provide the best level of hearing care in a respectful and positive environment.
Sophia Patrikis received her BA in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Medical Spanish from James Madison University and continued on to pursue her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) through the Long Island Consortium, a partnership between St. John’s, Hofstra, and Adelphi Universities. Dr. Patrikis also completed her final year of doctoral studies here at the Hudson Valley Audiology Center.
Her audiologic interests include amplification across the lifespan, pediatric diagnostics and rehabilitation, and cochlear implants. Sophia is a native of Rockland County and currently resides in Orange County with her husband and two sons.
