She has presented her clinical research in the areas of CHARGE syndrome, hearing aid trialing, real-ear measures, and economic disparities in hearing healthcare via posters, live, and recorded presentations at national and international conferences. She is the co-author of the "Hearing" chapter of the "CHARGE Syndrome" First and Second edition textbooks. She directs a local non-profit project, Hearing the Call - Northeast Ohio.

All of those achievements could never compete with her highest priority and greatest love: her family. Her wonderful husband is Daniel (who built this awesome website) and they chase their kids (Zach, Ellie, and Owen), golden retriever, and two cats around for fun. She is a lover of music, yummy food, Disney (and Disney World), Harry Potter, Star Wars, history documentaries, docuseries based on veterinarian clinics and zoos, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“Great people to work with. They are very compassionate and knowledgeable about their profession. They explained everything very well and answered all questions in terms that myself and my wife could understand. They are not high pressure or trying to push you to make a sale. I highly recommend Sound of Life if you are experiencing any hearing issues and need a awesome group of professionals.”

“Staff was friendly and efficient. Was told when I paid by check that appointment charge would be submitted to insurance and I would probably receive some refund. I have never received an EOB from insurance so can only assume insurance has not been billed.”

“I have had significant hearing loss and have worn hearing aids for 16 years. When my previous audiologist retired, I was at a loss. I was so happy to connect with Dr. Curtis and the staff of Sound of Life. Dr. Curtis has spent quite a bit of time working with me to ensure my hearing aids fit properly and always displays compassion and professionalism. The team at Sounds of Life are top notch and all contribute to my continued support of this practice. ”

“I'm very pleased with my experience with Dr. Sarah Curtis and her staff at Sounds of Life Hearing Center. Jaime was very knowledgeable, answering all my questions as she made me feel comfortable while running the hearing test. Dr Cutris was very thorough in explaining the test results, what I can expect to experience while I adjust to my hearing aids and went over the cost, insurance coverage. The receptionist is very friendly, and helpful with scheduling appointments and reminders. ”

“Wow, I was amazed with my first phone call to SoLHC, Carmella way so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with information. Right away I knew I wanted them to be my audiologist even knowing I would drive one and a half hours each way to their office. ”

Empowering Lives through Compassionate Hearing and Tinnitus Care

Sounds of Life Hearing Center is a private audiology practice in Concord Township, OH. It was founded in 2018 by Audiologist, Dr. Sarah Curtis. It is a truly independent practice with no corporate or manufacturer ownership.

Though Dr. Curtis started as a solo practice when she opened in October 2018, she grew her staff in 2020. The practice presently employs 3 Audiologists and a patient care coordinator (see staff bios). Sounds of Life is also a training site for Audiology doctoral graduate students/residents who are regularly involved in patient care. As a center of excellence and a truly unique private practice, the practice is ideal for enriching these students’ clinical education and experience.

The Audiologists at Sounds of Life provide diagnosis and rehabilitation of hearing difficulty and tinnitus for patients of all ages. No service is “routine”, and each patient is treated uniquely. Patients receive comprehensive hearing evaluations far beyond a traditional “test” or “screening”. When hearing aids are an appropriate treatment option, the Audiologists have access to all major manufacturers and the services and knowledge used to select, fit, and continue care for hearing aid patients are unmatched in Northeastern Ohio.

At Sounds of Life, the focus is not on the product or the sale; rather, it is on the person and helping them to achieve their goals and their best possible outcomes. And for all the above, the fees are fair and competitive, often better than other providers in the area with less expertise and who perform far fewer services! Hearing is too critical to accept cookie-cutter, retail care. There is no reason to go elsewhere – call today to schedule!
