“My mom who is 86 years old was having trouble hearing. The TV would be on the highest volume. We had seen the commercials of Ear Works Audiology. They have several locations, and one was near mom in Port Jefferson. Cathy receptionist is amazing. Greeting us with a big a smile. And then we meet Jennifer. She put us, and especially mom at ease, and explained everything to us. Jennifer was do kind, understanding, and professional. We were not rushed at all. On the first day that mom had her hearing aids in she was childlike and could not get over what she could hear again. For me it was emotional. When we walked out of Ear Works audiology in Port Jefferson mom said to me I can hear the traffic. I can hear the wind. now the TV is back to normal volume. And mom is so pleased with her hearing aids. Thank you Jennifer for the care that you gave my mom. For those of you who are reading this review my good advice is make an appointment with Ear Works especially at the location of Port Jefferson. ”
“The staff were nice and professional but the product is inferior. There is a volume button on the heating aid that is extremely sensitive. The cost for the product was $5,000 and when the button needed repair, the cost was over $400. You would think with the cost of the product the manufacturer would make it more durable. You can buy insurance which is not cheap. When you pay that amount of money, insurance should not even enter into the purchase.”
Received 05/07/2019Official Response from Ear Works Audiology - Port Jefferson Station:“Dear Terry, Thank you for your feedback – we appreciate hearing how we are doing and we’re grateful for your compliment on our professional staff. We understand how frustrating it can be when you don’t feel you received the value you expected from your hearing aids. We’re sorry you were disappointed. There are many factors that can affect the longevity and performance of hearing aids. They are typically used all day, every day. When not in use, storage in a cool, dry safe place away from pets and small children is recommended. These tiny electronic devices are worn in warm, dark and damp environments and some maintenance is recommended, as malfunctions can and do happen. Most hearing aids come with a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty. Repairs are typically covered at no charge during the warranty period and low-cost options can be available after the warranty expires. Again, we apologize that you are not satisfied with the quality of your hearing aids and we understand that they can be an expensive investment in your overall quality of life. We welcome you back to discuss how we might address the volume button on the hearing aids. Sincerely, Toni Zanetti Director ”
