Lori Fields

HIS

Lori Fields is a licensed hearing instrument specialist helping patients hear their best.

"If today I can help one person hear better, my day was not lived in vain." ~ Lori Hunter-Fields, BS-HIS

My name is Lori and I am originally from Lexington, NC where I was born and raised. I have three grown children named Conlee (my football star), Preston (never met an electronic he couldn't repair), and daughter Savannah (attending Appalachian State University for a degree in medicine). Since our children have grown and gone, we have found a love for travel in our travel trailer. We don't camp, we glamp.

My hopes of being a vessel for folks to have and maintain a quality of life, not just life without quality, was chosen for me by powers greater than myself. There is no career better than using my BS-HIS medical training to bring back the sound of birds chirping in the morning, children laughing or hearing "I love you mom (dad)" with clarity. We only get one little life, nobody gets a re-do, why not enjoy every possible moment with the simplest of joys, hearing.

Many studies show that when a person has a hearing loss their friends and family often avoid conversations of length due to the frustration of repeating themselves multiple times. I know this first hand. I too wear hearing aids. My first day of life quality allowed me to determine a direction of sound. Tears of joy ran down my face as a loud noise occurred and I turned in the direction it came from. I had lost that ability years ago. Something so common and simple to most was a miracle to me. My adult children enjoy visiting more now, especially since they do not have to yell over my loud television. What profession would or could be more awesome than being the person that brings all of that back for others? No, I am not a miracle worker, I am just me utilizing the best hearing devices on the market today in order to help you regain all the magic that only sound can bring. Thank you.

“I went to the Palmetto hearing on Parklane Rd. today for a scheduled appt. This is the first visit since The original Palmetto Hearing moved to Camden. The original staff that I had visited for years was no longer at the Parklane location. Upon entering the Parklane office I was greeted by a very nice receptionist. I have asthma, and cancer. There was a strong air freshener plugged into the reception office. Immediately I began to have an asthma attack. I put a scarf over my nose and mouth. The receptionist was very concerned & offered to put a chair away from the small reception area. I ask for a separate room to sit in, but was told no, they did not have one. I had arrived 30 min. early to be sure I was on time. After waiting 15 min. The audiologist came out, looked at me and ask what I was doing there. The receptionist told here I had arrived early for my appt. The audiologist argued with the receptionist , and continued to talk down to me. This appt. had been set 2 weeks prior. The audiologist became very upset, and told me that I did not have an appt., that my appt. was in Camden. I live in Lexington, and had driven to the office where I made the appt. Again the receptionist spoke up & told her that I did have an appt. I ask the audiologist if she could take me earlier due to the asthma attack. She became very indignant and said no, that she was going to eat lunch & I could wait outside in the cold. I told her I just would not come back. She said that was fine with her. I was there just to have my battery checked. She was rude, crude & very none professional. The former staff never treated me in this manner. I am very dissatisfied with this audiologist. This practice is not a part of Palmetto Hearing. ”

“I have used Palmetto Hearing for several years! They are awesome! I visited several other hearing specialist places but none came anywhere close to Palmetto in genuine care, courtesy, and professionalism! I recommend them without any reservation whatsoever!! They are the best!”
