Rebecca Holowka,

Lic. #02-0000137

Rebecca Holowka has been practicing audiology for over 30 years, working in a variety of both adult and pediatric settings. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences at Radford University in 1990, she earned her master’s degree in Audiology from Gallaudet University in 1992. Originally from Maryland, Rebecca also lived in Florida before moving to Delaware in 1999.

After working primarily with children for 10 years, Rebecca changed her focus to working also with adults. She feels her role within hearing healthcare is not only to help people hear better, but to focus on improving communication as a whole by considering the social and emotional effects of hearing loss, including the ways by which it affects our relationships with others.

Rebecca is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and has held their Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology since 1993. She has also been the Director of Healthy Hearing for Delaware Special Olympics since 2002, which allows her to expand her focus on hearing healthcare to children and adults with disabilities.

“I was very lucky to be paired with Lisa as my audiologist at the Peoples Plaza Office. While another office was much closer to me, they were still in the process of being credentialed for my insurance while Lisa was already credentialed, and I don't mind the drive to see this incredible kind and thoughtful person. As I am new to using hearing aids, I appreciate Lisa taking her time to be sure I understand how to utilize them, and continues to help me adapt to the new experiences now that I can hear better, like the floors creaking in my home! ”
