“After 3 years of issues re hearing loss, I was referred to BHC for possible implants, Speedy testing revealed that hearing aids will work at this time and was processed and received. Waiting (no fault of BHC being busy) waiting for fitting for 10 days, They will work me in if cancellation occurs”

“Mary was very good with my 93 year old mother. The only ding on the rating is that we ordered white hearing aids (they tend to fall out of my mother's ears) so that she could spot them easier and we got silver as the final product instead. We could not return as my mother was moving out of state. All personnel at the Danville site are wonderful.”

“If going here for repair, get your money out! My speaker broke and I couldn't very well go without so went to Bluegrass. Within 5 min. I had a fix, with a smile, and a charge of more than $200. Unfortunately I was in such shock I didn't look at statement until I got.home. It wasn't even itemized. The next week in Lexington I consulted with two other providers on cost, both gave a price of less than half of what I paid!
I did not ask cost first, nor did they offer me the cost, as I never dreamed the charge would be so high. It is my belief that they took advantage of my needing a quick fix! ”

Official Response from Bluegrass Hearing Clinic - Danville:
“Donna,
We appreciate your feedback about your recent repair in our office. We never want a patient of our clinic to feel as though we have taken advantage and want to make sure all concerns are addressed. Hearing aid repairs typically can range from around $30-$300 per hearing aid and per visit. Unfortunately, there is no way for us to diagnose the problem with the device until we do a thorough inspection of them. It is my understanding you have 2 hearing aids and both were in need of repair. At times, we can correct the problem with a simple cleaning or check; however, other times we must replace very important parts that have a higher cost. The speaker or receiver is a part that can fortunately be replaced in the office, but also are higher in cost from the manufacturers. Here at Bluegrass Hearing Clinic the replacement of speakers/receivers also includes the office visit or diagnosis of the problem and a 6 month warranty on the part that is replaced. I apologize if you did not receive an itemized invoice with your visit or if this was not fully explained to you before processing payment. It is our policy to give each patient an explanation of charge and an itemized receipt, as the invoice also lists the date of your warranty expiration with our office on the receivers. Please call our office and we can mail you this receipt or stop by and we can explain all of this in more detail.
Sincerely,
Dr. Vanessa Ewert
Audiologist/Owner”
