Dr. Amy Charrier is a licensed audiologist and one of our hearing professionals at Audiology and Hearing Center of Tampa. She earned a Master’s degree in audiology from the University of Massachusetts and a Doctorate in audiology from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry School of Audiology. Dr. Charrier works with people of all ages and specializes in hearing evaluations and hearing aid technology.
When not helping others, Dr. Charrier enjoys her family, her children’s sporting events and traveling.
Sabrina Mize
Patient Care Coordinator/Audiology Assistant
As the Patient Care Coordinator and Audiology Assistant in our Tampa Palms location Sabrina is passionate about helping children as well as adults improve their lives with better hearing.
During her career, she has worked with dementia patients at an assisted-living facility and as a substitute teacher with the Pasco County School System. Sabrina was a vital part of her family when her grandparents were ill and she was their primary caregiver.
Sabrina moved to the Tampa Bay area from Pennsylvania in 2003. She met her husband in 2004 and they now have two children. During her free time, she enjoys exercising and running 5Ks. She especially enjoys spending time with her children at the ice rink, as both of her boys play travel hockey, which takes her family all over the United States.

“Today I’m sharing a piece of my life. I have had hearing issues since I was 4 years old, and for 32 years, every hearing test felt like a test I was destined to fail. There is a specific, heavy anxiety that comes with sitting in a silent sound booth, waiting for tones that jump randomly between ears, knowing you can’t hear what you can’t hear. I’ve spent my life navigating chronic infections, scarring, and apparently perforations in both ears, but it wasn't until I walked into Audiology and Hearing Center of Tampa that I finally understood my own story. Before this, I was on an emotional rollercoaster with hearing aid trials that were supposed to change my life but instead left me frustrated when they glitched or played unexpected music. It was heartbreaking to finally get a taste of what "normal" people hear, only to have the technology fail me. I walked into Dr. Amy L. Charrier’s office through a Vocational Rehab referral feeling that old familiar dread, but she met me with a level of kindness and clarity I’ve never experienced. For the first time, someone explained that my brain and word recognition can actually be excellent with possibilities of hitting 93% - 100% accuracy with assisted volume amplifiers high enough to push past the physical damage in my ears. I cried in that office because I finally realized I wasn't failing. We talked about the daily struggle of background noise and how maximizing volume is my only way to truly comprehend speech and stay present for my family and work. Because of this team, I finally have a roadmap for hearing aids and custom protection options for my ears that I could never afford or navigate on my own before. This isn't just a medical recommendation; it is a life-changing opportunity for me to work, parent, and exist in the world without the constant shadow of what am I missing? “I had an abnormal hearing test in October of last year. This led to an ENT eval, testing and follow up. It was determined I should get hearing aids. I came back to this office to start my fact finding. Once again, the experience was exemplary! All my questions were answered, I was given options there was no "pressure" to make a quick decision.
