Hearing Evaluation Services of Buffalo, Inc. - Orchard Park

Dr. Smyczynski has been with Hearing Evaluation Services as a Doctor of Audiology since 2015.  She graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in June with her clinical Doctorate in Audiology. During her residency, which she completed at HES, she provided balance assessments for patients with dizziness and imbalance at Dent Neurologic Institute and cared for hearing aid patients at HES offices. Dr. Smyczynski interests include tinnitus testing and managment, diagnostic audiometric and balance testing and hearing device fittings. She is originally from Lockport, New York and currently resides in Orchard Park, New York.

Dr. Pleban joined Hearing Evaluation Services in February 2019. Originally from Baldwinsville, which is outside of Syracuse, NY. Dr. Pleban received her B.S. in Communicative Disorders and Sciences from SUNY Geneseo in 2003 and her Doctorate in Audiology from the University at Buffalo in 2007. She specializes in working with adult and pediatric populations and she has extensive expertise in audiometric assessments, hearing aid fittings, and aural rehabilitation.

Dr. Pleban focuses on patient counseling, education, and quality of life improvements, which she finds to be the most rewarding experiences as an Audiologist. She takes pride in patient outcomes with careful selection of hearing aid technologies and assistive listening devices to meet the unique listening needs of each individual. Dr. Pleban has the pleasure of working with residents within their Senior Living Facilities. She assists residents within the natural environment with all the hearing care needs.

Additionally, Dr. Pleban is the Board President for the not-for-profit after-school program, Just for Kids. She also started a rapidly growing Educational Audiology program at HES. This provides in-school hearing care to ensure students achieve their maximum potential without any barriers due to hearing impairment.

Dr. Pleban resides in Orchard Park, New York with her husband, three children and her 2 dogs!

Dr. Stephanie Malone is originally from Long Island, New York, and received her undergraduate degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from Hofstra University. She received her Doctorate in Audiology from Towson University in 2018.

Dr. Malone completed a doctoral thesis researching Auditory processing in adults with Autism and has a special interest in adult and pediatric amplification and aural rehabilitation. She honed her clinical skills working as an audiologist at Strong Memorial Hospital before joining HES.

Dr. Malone is a certified tinnitus specialist and is also certified as a provider of the unique tinnitus treatment device called Lenire.

Dr. Malone is a provider at our Orchard Park office and lives in Amherst.

Dr. Zimmer is from Amherst, NY, and received her B.A. from the University at Buffalo in Communication Disorders and Sciences. She completed her audiology residency at HES while attending the Northeast Ohio AuD Consortium (NOAC) for graduate school. She received her Au.D. from Kent State University.

Dr. Zimmer enjoys working with patients of all ages and is actively involved in the growing Educational Audiology program at HES.  She also enjoys working with patients in the Orchard Park office providing audiometric evaluations, hearing aid selection and fitting, and educating patient on hearing loss and the importance of hearing care.
