Audiologist

My specialties include hearing aid programming and tinnitus. I am versed in fitting a wide variety of hearing aid manufacturers and dedicated to producing the best sound experience for my patients. I diligently follow development in hearing aid and tinnitus research so that I can provide my patients with the most up-to-date information and maintain a treatment plan that will work best for them. Advanced Training You Can Trust - Doctor of Audiology- University of Texas at Dallas, TX - Bachelor of Science in Audiology/Speech Language Pathology- University of the Pacific, CA - Licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Personal Background My background as a musician inspired my path to being an audiologist. I’ve played the saxophone for almost 20 years. In my free time, I enjoy jamming with friends at local venues and at home. I was introduced to audiology in my high school anatomy and physiology class. I found myself particularly fascinated by psychoacoustics, which is the study of sound perception. I wanted to understand why things sounded the way they did, and the interaction of factors that influence a listener’s subjective perception of the quality of a sound. I love being an audiologist because I get to apply a synergy of audiologic and musical concepts to help improve the functionality and quality of people’s hearing.

Audiologist

My passion for audiology started at a young age.  My mother is an audiologist, so I was introduced to the field as a child.  As I grew, surrounded by the field of audiology, I became very aware of the importance of hearing health and the impact hearing loss can have on individuals.  I wanted to make people care about their hearing as much as I did!  So, that is what I set out to do. My goal is to help people reconnect with the world around them through better hearing and effective communication strategies.

When I’m not working, you can find me spending time with my husband, our dog, Olive, and our cat, Bridget.  We love to go on walks and spend time outside.  I’m an animal-lover, so I always love to see pictures of people’s pets!  I also enjoy getting crafty – specifically painting, crocheting, and nail art.

  • Doctor of Audiology – Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, School of Allied Health
  • Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Minor in Psychology – University of Texas at Dallas
  • Licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence, ASHA

Improving the Quality of Your Life

One of the most important aspects of my job is helping improve people’s quality of life through better hearing.  A key factor in finding and creating individualized hearing solutions for my patients is spending time to get to know them.  Understanding people’s needs, as well as their concerns, provides the necessary foundation for making positive, impactful change.  The journey to better hearing is also a team effort.  Each of my patients and I work together, as a team, to reach our hearing and communication goals.

“My experience with Dr. Copley at Total Hearing was exceptional throughout getting hearing aids for the first time. She couldn’t have been more professional, patient, and informative from my hearing examination throughout the whole process. Dr. Copley explained in detail the results of my hearing test and which hearing aids would be best for me and why. Over the next few weeks I came in weekly for follow up to make sure They were working properly, made a few “tweaks”, and explained additional features so that I was totally comfortable with them. I couldn’t be more satisfied with Dr. Copley and all the office staff and would highly recommend anyone experiencing hearing loss to go to Dr. Copley as she was everything I expected and more.”
