RK Audiology - Westlake

Dr. Victoria Villarreal attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she received a Doctorate of Audiology and Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders (with a minor in Theater and Dance) and graduated with the highest honors.

She is a certified Lyric hearing provider and is highly skilled and knowledgeable in fitting, programming, and servicing the latest hearing aid technology.

Dr. Villarreal has lectured to Audiology Doctoral students at The University of Texas at Austin, teaching Amplifying Systems in Aural Rehab.

Originally from Burnet, TX, Dr. Villarreal and her husband have enjoyed making Austin their home.

Founder and co-owner Paula Rivers grew up in Mineral Wells, TX, riding motorcycles, operating heavy equipment, shooting guns, and listening to loud music without ear protection. This early noise exposure gave her a first-hand appreciation for the importance of hearing protection.

Paula graduated cum laude from Texas Christian University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Communication and Human Relations with a minor in Radio/Television/Film. She earned a second Bachelor of Science degree in speech-language pathology from Texas Woman’s University and her Master of Science in Audiology from the University of North Texas.  

Paula travels between RK locations to support, manage, and educate the audiology team on best practices and the ever-growing and changing landscape of hearing healthcare.

She taught the Amplifying Systems in Aural Rehab course to audiology doctoral students at the University of Texas at Austin with colleague and RK Westlake's lead audiologist, Dr. Victoria Villarreal.

Paula is fascinated with the anatomy and physiology of the ear and is an early adopter of the latest technology. Paula has expertise in customized hearing technology and made-for-smartphone options.

In her free time, she can be found playing with her pup, strumming her ukulele or guitar, riding her bike, and finding the sunshine.

Janet is a native Texan, founder, Audiologist, and co-owner of RK Audiology in Austin, Texas. Her role with RK includes marketing, front office, admin, HR, bookkeeping, and other hats, depending on the day. As a local business owner & entrepreneur, Janet is passionate about preserving legacy and keeping local businesses independent.

She received her Bachelor of Science from Baylor University and a Master of Arts in Audiology from the University of Texas at Austin. She has previously worked with hearing instrument manufacturers in training, business development, research, and software testing.

Janet loves living in Austin — a beautiful, eclectic, music-loving city with a small-town community heart and soul. She is the Past President of the Austin Local Business Alliance (ALBA), Board Member and the Director of Website Management for the Texas Academy of Audiology (TAA). She is an alumna of the Leadership Austin, Experience Austin Program.
