Mark Shaver grew up in Wichita, Kansas and has been a practicing audiologist for 14 years. He received his bachelor’s in communicative disorders & sciences from Wichita State University in 2004 and continued on at the same institution to receive his Ph.D. in 2010, culminating in research into novel middle ear assessment techniques. Mark recently returned to school to complete a master’s in Health Information Management as he prides himself in being a lifelong learner.
Mark has worked in various settings throughout his career including as a university educator, an administrator in a VA hospital and for the Board of Hearing Aid Examiners. He has worked clinically in a university speech and hearing clinic, in a medical ENT clinic, and in a rural hospital setting before starting his work with HearingLife. Mark’s experiences and educational background have prepared him with extensive experience in the diagnostic and rehabilitative processes used to assess and treat hearing problems. He is licensed in both audiology and hearing aid dispensing in Kansas and is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

“HearingLife I visited in February & found hearing loss I was surprised. Fit me & later let me know of new update so I agreed. After couple weeks found didn't like new ones as well as original. After review found that new set needed adjustments based as original one to date of change. Now it is much better. ”

“I was having problems with my old hearing aids and was not hearing as well as I felt i should be. Also my tinnitus seemed to be getting worse. I had not had my hearing tested in a long time so I went in and had Misty test my hearing. I have never had such a through test before. She tried to do an upgrade to my old aids but they didn`t take it. I couldn't afford new ones at the time but Misty offered me a special price 3 months later and now I can hear so much better! I thought my tinnitus was getting worse but it was my old aids that were wearing out. The new aids are so much better. Thank you Misty for helping me hear so much better.
