Should I wear my hearing aids all day?

No hearing aids are yet fully waterproof, so you'll need to remove them for showering or swimming. In addition, you'll want to take them off when you go to bed, just as you would your eyeglasses. Aside from those situations, successful hearing aid wearers tend to wear their hearing aids for all waking hours. Once you're used to hearing sounds again, you'll probably find you don't want to be without your hearing aids. Even when we're alone, the sounds we hear help to orient us to our surroundings - the songs of birds outside, the sounds of our feet as we walk across the floor, a knock at the door. You'll simply find you enjoy being tuned in again to what's happening around you when you wear your hearing aids.
