Hailing from Glenview, IL. Kathy embodies the spirit of the West. Her journey led her to establish the Audiology and Hearing Aid Center in the 1980s expanding to offices in North Scottsdale and Central Phoenix. With over 35 years dedicated to audiology Cathy holds a bachelor's degree from Loyola University in Chicago and her masters of Audiology from the University of Illinois and in 2002 she completed her Doctorate of Audiology from The Arizona school of Health Sciences a division of A.T. Still University of Osteopathic Medicine.
A seasoned authority Cathy's expertise shines in her extensive discussions on hearing health care, technology, and disorders. Licensed in Arizona she's affiliated with the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists and the American Academy of Audiology. With her retirement from private practice a year ago Cathy realized her passion still lies in audiology prompting her to co-found Audiology of Scottsdale in August 2023. Excited about advancements in hearing aid technology, she's eager to introduce remarkable options and holds bi-monthly seminars to empower patients with knowledge on hearing aids Bluetooth and remote tech. What to expect at your first appointment. When you visit our hearing clinic for the first time, your appointment will be separated into four parts.
- Conversation - We start by talking to you to understand your needs.
- Ear Exam - After examining your ear canal and eardrum with an otoscope to ensure their health and free of ear wax. we proceed to the testing phase.
- Hearing Test - You'll be in a sound booth wearing headphones, listening to different sounds at different frequencies. We'll also evaluate your ability to hear words in quiet and noisy environments.
- Recommendations - We'll review your hearing test outcome. documented on your audiogram. If hearing aids are suitable for you, we'll talk about your options.
Our advanced hearing services also include:
- Hearing Aid Evaluation - After we have the results of your hearing exam, we will help you find the right solution to managing your hearing loss. We will look at your degree of hearing loss, lifestyle, and budget. Using this information, we will recommend a hearing aid that meets all of your unique requirements.
- Hearing Aid Sales - We offer cutting edge hearing aids including Bluetooth and rechargeable options, with advanced features for an enhanced experience. We also offer customized solutions.
- Hearing Aid Fitting - Once you’ve decided on a hearing aid, we will fit the devices to your exact ear shape and hearing prescription. Hearing aids should feel comfortable yet secure in your ears. We can create custom hearing aid molds, depending on the style of device you choose, and ensure they fit perfectly. We will also program your hearing aids based on your audiogram so you can hear all the sounds that are important to you.
- Hearing Aid Repairs - Our audiologist is an expert in hearing aid technology and can fix most issues in office. If there is more serious damage to your hearing aids, we can send them to the manufacturer for you. Hearing aid cleaning and deep cleaning additionally.
- Earwax Removal, earwax medically known as cerumen.
- Tinnitus management, commonly known as a “ringing in the ears".

- Hearing Protection - We can create custom fit earplugs, earmolds, and in-ear monitors. Be proactive of your hearing health by wearing custom hearing protection.
