Mobile Services Director
Kathy Grabowski is an SC Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist. She has been in South Carolina since 1989 when she moved here from Minnesota. She is retired from the US Air Force where she served six years as a photo processor working with everything from satellite imagery to photos of the space shuttle in the midst of its missions.
She came to the hearing healthcare field in 2011 and has found her passion in hearing health. “Through the past 11 years, I have very much enjoyed helping folks have a better quality of life through better hearing. I just love seeing them reconnect to life. I’ve seen everything from grandparents hearing their grandchildren say, ‘I love you, Grandma’, to seeing the expressions of wonder on people's faces when they hear something for the first time like the refrigerator humming, or crickets, or the blinker on their car. It’s that ‘Oh my gosh, I heard that!’ expression on people’s faces when they try their new aids that has me hooked. I like to teach people that their hearing ability is not a disability.”
Kathy has three children, two of whom are active military. She lives in Aynor, SC, where she enjoys critters: horses and dogs, kayaking, paddling, and walking on the beach.

About Pee Dee Hearing Center,
Over the past 55 years, Pee Dee Hearing Center, has been fortunate to serve a remarkable number of individuals exceeding 300,000 , thanks to the invaluable support of numerous dedicated volunteers. Originally established in 1968, the center was created to provide assistance to those experiencing speech, language and hearing problems.
Initially the center housed a bustling preschool for the hearing impaired, along side a full diagnostic audiology clinic and speech-language clinics. While the preschool is no longe a part of our services, we continue to offer the same range of vital programs. As part of our commitment to the community we have expanded to include an outreach hearing conservation program, aiming to prevent hearing loss caused by excessive noise exposure.
Pee Dee Hearing Center, remains a thriving institution, dedicated to serving the Pee Dee region and beyond. Our highly trained and experienced staff passionately believe in the fundamental importance of effective communication, recognizing it as a a basic human right. Without it, no individual or community can exist or prosper.
**Pee Dee Hearing Center, is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit, community-based organization that relies on grants, donations, volunteers, and community support.
