Dan Finnegan,
AuD

Audiologist/Owner

Dr. Dan Finnegan, or Dr. Dan as most of his patients affectionately call him, was born in Modesto, CA and was raised in the small farming community of Hughson, CA. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2004 from UC Santa Barbara where he graduated cum laude, and his Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from the San Diego State/UC San Diego Joint Doctoral program in 2009. He completed his externship/residency year at Shohet Ear Associates, a prestigious private practice ENT office in Newport Beach, CA. Upon completion of his academic training, he joined as a staff Audiologist at Tustin Hearing Center in Tustin, CA.

During his eleven-year tenure at Tustin Hearing Center, Dr. Finnegan was recognized for his commitment to excellence in Audiology and his exceptional patient care. He received three Provider of Distinction Awards and was promoted twice–first in 2014 to Senior Audiologist and then in 2020 to Director of Audiology. It was also during his time at Tustin Hearing Center that he met the love of his life, Cassandra. They were married in 2013 and have three children together, two daughters and a son. In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Finnegan bleeds the Green & Gold of the Oakland Athletics, enjoys playing cornhole, doing BeachBody on Demand and grilling a nice steak, preferably Tri-Tip.

Now, Dr. Finnegan is thrilled to be back in a locally owned and independent private practice where the emphasis can truly be on providing excellence in Audiology and exceptional patient care. His goal is to continue what Shurson Hearing & Speech Center started and modernize it for the 21st Century.

Kim Covarrubias,
LVN

Licensed Vocational Nurse, Patient Care Coordinator

Kim grew up in Tyler, Texas—and if you’ve ever spoken with her on the phone, you’ve likely noticed her authentic Texas accent right away.

As the practice’s Patient Care Coordinator, Kim is often the first friendly voice patients hear. She schedules appointments, answers questions, and assists with hearing aid care, including cleaning and basic troubleshooting. Kim was drawn to hearing healthcare because she wanted a career where she could truly make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. Seeing patients achieve positive outcomes through improved hearing health is what she finds most rewarding.

It’s especially meaningful to Kim when patients come to the office feeling frustrated after unsuccessful experiences elsewhere. Watching the team work together to help those same patients regain confidence and achieve lasting success reminds her just how impactful the work can be—and she’s incredibly proud to be part of it.

Outside of the office, Kim enjoys spending time with her family and their Yorkie, Sue Ellen. She loves playing board games, singing karaoke, and relaxing with a good movie or TV series. Some of her favorites include Little House on the Prairie, Dallas, and Dynasty—which, as she happily admits, perfectly reflect her love for all things 1980s.

Angelica Castellon (Spanish speaking),
PCC

Patient Care Coordinator

Angelica attended several schools within the Visalia Unified School District, so it’s fair to say she knows the city well. From an early age, she knew she wanted to help people connect more easily through conversation and improved hearing, making hearing healthcare a natural choice for her career.

As a part-time Patient Care Coordinator on Mondays and Fridays, Angelica helps keep the office running smoothly by maintaining organization, providing excellent customer service, and assisting patients with hearing aid and smartphone troubleshooting. Fluent in Spanish, she also serves as an important bridge for Spanish-speaking patients in the Visalia community, helping ensure clear communication and comfortable care.

One of Angelica’s favorite aspects of her role is seeing the confidence and relief on patients’ faces after their first visit, knowing they feel reassured and empowered in their decision to pursue hearing care.

Outside of work, Angelica enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, creating meaningful memories she’ll cherish for years to come.

“Dr. Finnegan and his staff are the best! They are hands-on and attentive whenever I have a question or need assistance. This is the kind of healthcare provider you dream about having. The last experience I had was because I thought one of my hearing aids was not working. They checked it out, cleaned it and taught me how to do it myself in the future, providing me with the tools I would need. I am grateful that Dr. Finnegan has stepped in after Dr. Shurson left. ”
