After working in speech clinics, deaf education, and audiology, Dr. Davies realized that many programs for students with hearing needs do not often help children reach their full potential.
So in 2022, Dr. Davies founded The Davies Institute of Speech and Hearing in order to help guide children, parents and families impacted by hearing loss hearing loss throughout their educational journey.
We provide early childhood education programs for children with hearing loss (18 months- 5 years), while also providing public access to speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and audiological services to people of Katy, Texas and the surrounding areas.
Our mission at the Davies Institute for Speech and Hearing is to help children and students, but also to help families. Raising a child with hearing loss can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be. At DISH, we believe in utilizing a systemic family approach that teaches children, parents, and family members how to move through the early education and developmental journey. We believe that student success is not only dependent on the child’s abilities, but on family involvement throughout the education process. From newborn hearing screenings, to college acceptance letters, our goal is to provide your child with the best education, and to provide parents with the best resources to help them along the way.
Our families are given a team of staff members who are directly assigned to their child in order to help build and develop appropriate goals and milestones based on their exact needs. Parents and children will work with teachers, speech therapists, audiologists, and/or physical and occupational therapists based on their child's comprehensive evaluation. Services are offered year-round by our wonderful staff and parents are always encouraged to be involved and ask any questions that may come up in the process. Our staff works together WITH the families in order to keep constant communication on child development and progress throughout the year.
Come join our family, as we guide yours through a seamless transition throughout the world of early education.

Educational Diagnostic Evaluation
At Davies Institute for Speech and Hearing, we are with you from the very beginning. Our pediatric diagnosticians evaluate speech, movement, and behavior in order to give parents the guidance and treatment plan that best suits their child's needs. No matter what, we are here to help you and your child succeed.
Speech therapy is offered on-site to our students, as well as the public. It is not just for kids with hearing loss, but for kids with tongue ties, swallowing issues, etc. The sooner a child is enrolled in speech therapy, the better their success is in early childhood communication - not only at home but also in the classroom.
Physical & Occupational Therapy
Physical and Occupational therapy may go hand-in-hand, but for many parents it is unclear what the difference is. For many children, PT/OT can be crucial to their long-term development, or to their everyday tasks. Whether your child has hearing loss, vestibular/balance issues, or can't grab or grip toys, our therapists are here to help.
Parent & Family Counseling
Going through unknown territory can be especially scary when it comes to our children. The good news is it doesn't have to be. Our parent and family counselor is with you every step of the way - from early education, self-advocacy, and even college applications. You tell us your goals and we'll help you get there.
DISH school is designed with speech, language, and family at the forefront of our curriculum. We integrate language skills into every lesson to enhance our students' communication, and help them reach their individual developmental milestones. Our goal is prepare students and parents alike for the upcoming education process while teaching social skills as well as self-advocacy.
