Hearing Instrument Specialist
Jacob is a Board-Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist and the Owner of Hometown Hearing. In 2005, Jacob began his career in hearing care by working for some of the largest hearing aid brands including Miracle Ear and Beltone. Working with these companies, Jacob learned about the hearing aid industry and became fascinated with hearing aid technology.
After speaking with a friend who was a hearing specialist, Jacob discovered that he enjoyed the type of work being a hearing instrument specialist offered. Now he is passionate about helping people experience better hearing through hearing aids. He keeps up to date with the latest hearing aid technology and is excited to constantly see the new technology released and how it can help his patients reconnect with their life. From helping patients manage their hearing loss to discovering the latest advancements in hearing aid technology, Jacob loves the versatility of being a hearing specialist.

Hearing Test: We offer comprehensive hearing tests for adults. We should all have regular hearing tests throughout our lives, just like we need to be screened for other types of possible health problems. Hearing loss, like many other types of health issues, is easier to help the earlier it is diagnosed. We can effectively test your hearing and discover your degree of hearing loss.
Sound Field Testing: As part of your hearing test, we will also perform a sound field test. We will have you step into our sound-isolated room and via speakers we will test the sensitivity of your hearing. Sound field testing helps us develop a thorough understanding of your hearing ability.
Hearing Aid Consultation: During your first appointment we will test your hearing and perform a hearing aid consultation. During the hearing aid consultation, we will discuss hearing aid options that we believe will best help you. Our board-certified hearing instrument specialist is knowledgeable about all of the major brands of hearing aids and understands the technology inside of them. When going over your options for hearing aids, we will consider your hearing needs, lifestyle, and budget.
Hearing Aid Programming and Fitting: Once you have decided to move forward with the hearing aid process, we will expertly program and fit your new hearing aids to your unique ear shape and hearing needs. Every person’s hearing needs are different, just like the shape of your ear is unique to you.
Hearing Aid Repairs: Not everyone needs new hearing aids. We can repair and service all brands and models of hearing aids. We have a full service-center in our Newton office so we can easily make repairs on your hearing aids without having to send them to the manufacturer.
Earmolds: We have all types of custom ear molds available for any type of situation, from simple swim plugs or noise reduction to high quality ear monitors for musicians, and everything in between. Custom ear molds are the best way to keep your ears safe and to be proactive about your hearing health.
