Dr. Guy obtained her Bachelors and Masters degree from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1991 and 1993. She continued her education and obtained her Doctorate in Audiology at the Arizona School of Health in 2010. Dr. Guy comes to Freedom Hearing with over 25 years experience working in a private practice setting where she ensures continuity of care for all of her patients by collaborating with local physicians in order to determine the best course of action for each individual patient. Although Dr. Guy specializes in working with the pediatric population, she works with patients of all ages. In addition to regular audiological examinations, she has vast experience conducting newborn hearing screenings (Auditory Brainstem Response testing and Otoacoustic Emission testing), Central Auditory Processing testing, and diagnostic vestibular testing. Dr. Guy works diligently to ensure that appropriate referrals are made for follow-up care, and that any patient requiring hearing aids are fit with appropriate technology to provide the most enjoyable listening experience. Dr. Guy believes that every patient should have access to an audiologist who is looking out for their best interest. There are many choices when it comes to hearing healthcare, and patients should research and find a practice that makes the patient’s hearing health a top priority.
Dr. Behringer works at the Greenbelt Freedom Hearing Center office, which is located within the office of Dr. Khosrow Seyed Makki, Otolaryngologist. Lisa grew up Lanham, Maryland, and after attending Eleanor Roosevelt High School, she went to the University of Maryland where she received both her Bachelor’s and a Master of Arts degree in Hearing and Speech Science. After working several years in the profession of audiology, she returned to school to continue her education so she would be even better equipped to serve her patients. She obtained her AuD (Doctorate of Audiology) from Salus University in 2009 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.
Dr. Behringer has experience in many different areas of audiology, having worked with various hospitals, private audiology and Ears-Nose-Throat physician practices over the course of her career. She became affiliated with Dr. Makki in 2007. She is proud that the Greenbelt office is able to offer high-caliber Otolaryngology and Audiology services. The fitting of hearing aids is her particular specialty, and she enjoys the challenge of keeping up with the latest in hearing aid technology.
