Daniel Ostergren,
AuD

Audiologist

Dr. Daniel Ostergren, continues the family legacy of serving others as a third-generation medical professional. In 1994 he began his medical career as a founding member of the Audiology Group. He went on to practice in educational audiology, classroom acoustics, and also serving as an educator and lecturer in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Dr. Ostergren served as the president of the Colorado Academy of Audiology. His audiology career includes pediatrics, private practice, consultations, newborn hearing screenings, and acoustic research.

It's only natural that Dr. Ostergren was drawn to a field where he could help people. Audiology has allowed him the opportunity to bring together his nurturing disposition, interest in music, and recording gear experience. His mother was hard of hearing so he understands what it's like to live with hearing loss.

Dr. Ostergren stays involved in sound beyond audiology, by still performing music regularly, and has even served as a recording engineer for the local symphony. If sound is involved so is he.

“What a pleasure it has been to work with Dr. Meghan Abraham at Audiology Group of Northern Colorado. This was my first set of hearing aids, and I needed training from ground zero. It's wonderful being able to hear, of course, but the greatest benefit has been the painstaking, one-step-at-a-time training and help from Dr. Abraham anytime I need it. Audiology Group offers an excellent product and lovely customer service. I couldn't be happier. ”

“The staff at Audiology Group are friendly, approachable, and very helpful. Dan and Savannah made me feel comfortable about my concerns about my level of hearing loss and what hearing aids could and couldn’t do for me. There was no pressure to purchase, only conversation and information for me to consider. I was comfortable that they were only interested in helping me hear better and that all decisions would be up to me. ”

“After many years of struggling with my husband trying to wear hearing aids we decided to try again. Dr. Meghan Abraham spent time with us as a couple and we both are now wearing hearing aids and with many hours of follow-up support we have been able to understand how hearing loss and brain processing affect a person’s ability to communicate effectively. I have become a hearing aid advocate and look at wearing hearing aids as something we did to improve our ability for having a conversation and understanding each other. Everyone at this practice has been very supportive and helpful during our year of learning about the importance of wearing hearing aids.”

“At 60, I was not excited about needing hearing aids. Dr. Ostergren and his staff made it pleasant and turned it into a positive experience. I'm now thrilled to have my hearing aids and know that I am well cared for by this office!”

Helping Fort Collins hear better

Every day in our office is different because every patient is different. We love getting to know every single person who walks through our door. Audiology is more than just our occupation, it's our passion. We have fun helping people and we look forward to being able to help you too.

Our office is casual and welcoming, yet professional. We focus on your hearing needs, not sales. We understand that medical settings can be intimidating, so we don’t wear lab coats or ties and we always have on a smile to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible.

We are located at the UCHealth Harmony Campus in Building A, Suite 350B. Enter through the main entrance that faces North and we are on the 3rd floor - when you exit the elevator, we are down the hallway to the left on the left side in Suite 350B.

Hearing care services

Audiology and Hearing Aid Services

  • Diagnostic audiological evaluations: A comprehensive evaluation will determine if you have hearing loss, the nature of your hearing loss, and whether you're a good candidate for hearing aids and/or need another form of treatment to hear better.
  • Hearing aid evaluation and selection: We carry some of the best hearing aids available today, including those with Bluetooth connectivity. Based on your hearing loss and what you need and want out of your hearing aids, we'll make a personalized recommendation for you.
  • Hearing aid dispensing and fitting: Hearing aids must be fit and programmed to your individual needs so that you can hear and feel your best.
  • Hearing aid repairs: If your hearing aids stop working, bring them to us and we can usually get them working again with a thorough cleaning. But in case we do need to send them to the manufacturer, we keep loaner devices in stock so you're never without your hearing.
  • Pediatric audiology: Dr. Ostergren has experience working with children who have hearing loss and other hearing issues. We are happy to help younger patients of all ages, and we know how to put them (and their families) at ease.
  • Tinnitus evaluation and management: Tinnitus, also known as “ringing in the ears,” has many treatment options. We can evaluate your tinnitus to see if one of these treatments would be right for you.
  • Live speech mapping: This is a method of evaluating how well your hearing aids are helping you, using actual speech instead of tones for more accurate results.
  • Hearing Aid Brands: Over the years we have worked with many hearing aids manufacturers, but we continue partnering with Oticon. Their outstanding technology has consistently impressed us. They also share in our philosophy that hearing is not just about getting you to hear better in a particular situation — it's about improving every aspect of your life that requires you to hear. Recognizing that hearing is part of the whole person.
