“I made an appointment at this store because I believed there was a problem with my Starkey Picasso hearing aids. I have never been so appalled by a service provider in my life. The receptionist took it very personally that I did not want to hand over my driver's license to be xeroxed the second I walked in the door and immediately reported that to the audiologist. Imagine going to an eyeglasses provider and having them refuse to look at your glasses unless you allowed them to Xerox your driver's license! I filled out all of the paperwork that they requested, I simply did not want my identification xeroxed for no reason. I was not seeing a medical doctor, I was requesting warranty service for my hearing aid! I gave the audiologist my driver's license to view and verify that I was who I said I was (although once again, why that was necessary escapes me), and told her that I would gladly provide them with my medical insurance card, but that I didn't want my license xeroxed unless I decided the fit was right for them to become my permanent audiologist. Insurance does not cover this type of visit, so I indicated that I knew I would have to pay for the visit. She said they could not service my 9 month old top of the line hearing aid unless I let them Xerox my license. They made several phone calls - heaven knows to whom and to find out what. I was being treated like a criminal! I had waited a week for that appointment only to find out that unless they had all of my personal information xeroxed they could not help me. I then drove to a different hearing care provider in the neighboring city where they immediately took a quick look at the hearing aid I thought had a problem, told me there was a wax buildup, cleaned the hearing aid up and I was out the door! They will most definitely be my new hearing aid provider. And I didn't have to have my driver's license xeroxed to have the wax removed from my hearing aid! ”
