A message from University Health System Audiology about COVID-19:
Dr. Michelle Tejada, Manager of Audiology Services, has over 20 years of experience in clinical audiology and is Board Certified by the American Board of Audiology with Specialty Certification in Pediatric Audiology. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Academy of Audiology as well as on the Ethical Practices and Professional Development Committees of the American Academy of Audiology. In addition, Dr. Tejada serves on the Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists Board of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. She holds a BS from the University of Arizona, MA from the University of Massachusetts, and an AuD from AT Still University. Outside of work, Dr. Tejada enjoys traveling and ringing handbells.
Jerome Evans has been a Doctor of Audiology since 2011. He has experience in all areas of audiology including cochlear implant mapping, dispensing hearing aids, and newborn hearing screening. Dr. Evans gradually lost his hearing and is now a cochlear implant wearer. He uses his personal experience to relate with patients. In his spare time, Dr. Evans enjoys running road races and has completed the Boston Marathon.
Allyson, a South Texas native received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders from Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU). She then obtained her Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (AuD) from the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. Allyson studied at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center where she completed her clinical externship. Clinical specialties include pediatric and adult hearing and vestibular diagnostic evaluations and treatment through hearing aids and other assistive technology. She has a special passion for adult and geriatric hearing aid population. Allyson holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Allyson is currently furthering her education and pursuing a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Business of Health.
Robin is a native of both Louisiana and Texas and received her Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (AuD) from the Joint Doctor of Audiology Program at SDSU and the University of California San Diego. She completed her Bachelor of the Arts degree in Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences at San Diego State University (SDSU). Robin completed her externship at the San Diego VA Medical Center and relocated to San Antonio in 2015 after working as a clinical Audiologist for several years in San Diego, CA. She specializes in diagnostic audiometric assessment and treatment across the lifespan, from newborns to geriatrics, however has a special interest in pediatric assessment and treatment. Robin is licensed in both Texas and California, holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a proud United States Marine Corps veteran.
