Susan Harris
Dr. Susan Harris joined the Hearing Professionals of Illinois team in 2009. Susan’s education began at Towson State University where she received her B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders. From there she went on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her M.S. in Audiology. She completed a post-Master’s fellowship at the University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma Center. She completed her Doctorate of Audiology at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry’s School of Audiology and has been practicing in the field for over 20 years.

Lindsey Portugal
Dr. Lindsey Portugal joined Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2011 after working at Chicago Otolaryngology Associates at Mercy Hospital, Resurrection Medical Center and the Ear, Nose and Throat Center at Lutheran General Hospital. She earned both her B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology and her Doctorate in Audiology from Illinois State University.

Sheri Yamashita
Dr. Sheri Yamashita attended the University of Illinois where she received her B.S. in Speech and Hearing Science and her M.A. in Audiology. She moved on to earn her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida. After working at Christie Clinic, Mercy Hospital and Advocate Medical Group, she joined Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2001.

Lauren Kelly
Dr. Lauren Kelly received her Doctorate in Audiology from Northwestern University and her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Prior to joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2019 and during her clinical training, Lauren gained experience working with patients at various hospitals in the area including Lake Forest Hospital, Lurie Children's Hospital, Jesse Brown VA and Northwestern Memorial.

Julie Landgraf
Dr. Julie Landgraf joined Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2007 after working at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital. She received both her B.S. in Speech and Hearing Science and her M.A. in Audiology from the University of Illinois and went on to earn her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida.

Sivan Blonz
After earning her B.S. in Communicative Disorders from Northern Illinois University, receiving the Phillip Morris In-College Scholarship and joining the Golden Key National Honor society, Sivan went on to earn her M.S. in Audiology from Rush University. She has been with Hearing Professionals of Illinois since 1999. Sivan previously worked with the Audio-Vestibular Association, Hines Veterans Hospital, and the DuPage-West Cook Regional Special Education Association.

Kathryn Kramer
Kathy received her Master of Arts degree in Audiology from Northwestern University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University. Prior to joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2018, Kathy worked at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital.

Brittany Nguyen
Dr. Brittany Nguyen received her Doctorate in Audiology from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During her graduate studies, she gained experience in a variety of settings across the country including an otolaryngology private practice in Charlotte, NC and Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. Following graduation, Brittany has worked in otolaryngology private practices in the Chicago suburbs. She was the sole audiologist at Suburban Otolaryngology in Berwyn for two years prior to joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2014.

Jeanmarie Carone
Jean has been practicing audiology for more than 30 years. She attended Northern Illinois University for both her B.A. in Speech Pathology and Audiology and her M.A. in Audiology. She has worked for the Illinois Department of Public Health, was head of audiology at Oak Forest Hospital, owned her own private practice, and worked as a contractual audiologist. She joined Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2011.

Mary Ann Jordan
Mary Ann received both her Master of Arts degree in Audiology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Disorders from Northern Illinois University. She has been practicing audiology since 1985 and worked at The University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, the Chicago Hearing Society, Westlake Community Hospital and for Beltone Hearing and Audiology Centers before joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2008.

Merle Nathan
Merle received both her Master of Arts degree in Audiology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has been a practicing Audiologist since 1987. Prior to joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 1995, Merle worked at Consultants in Neurology, specializing in neurodiagnostics, vestibular testing and balance disorders.

Andrea Karlin
Andrea received both her Master of Arts degree in Audiology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has been a practicing Audiologist since 1983. Prior to joining Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 2013, Andrea worked at Consultants in Neurology, specializing in neurodiagnostics, vestibular testing, balance disorders and hearing instrument evaluations.

Sue Sherman
Before joining the staff at Hearing Professionals of Illinois in 1986, Sue earned her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois graduating cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She went on to obtain her M.S. in Audiology from the Central Institute for the Deaf at Washington University and received the Goldstein Award for Academic Achievement and Professional Promise.

At Hearing Professionals of Illinois (formerly Audiological Laboratory, Ltd.), we believe in a team approach to patient care. We stress patient education to ensure understanding and informed decision making. We have access to all major hearing instrument manufacturers in order to provide a wide range of options for each individual. Our staff is there to provide technical skills, but also to lend the emotional support necessary for our patients to achieve success.
