Dr. Catherine Palmer is a licensed audiologist and the Director of Audiology and Hearing Aids in our Department of Audiology. She joined the University of Pittsburg in 1990 after working in the Veterans Administration as a clinical and research audiologist. Dr. Palmer earned her master’s degree and doctorate degree in audiology from Northwestern University and holds a certificate of clinical competence in audiology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. She is joined by a team of professionals knowledgeable in the latest technology and advancements in audiology so the best solutions are found for every patient.

The Centers for Audiology and Hearing Aids at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centers offer the people of the Pittsburgh area routine and specialized hearing testing and provides treatments for permanent hearing loss, including hearing aids, cochlear implants and other assistive listening devices. They see patients of all ages. They have a large team of highly-qualified and experienced licensed audiologists to deliver excellent patient care. They also have special programs for patients with tinnitus (noise in the ears), hyperacusis (hypersensitivity to sound), the auditory needs of musicians and for cochlear implant services.
