Temporary policies are in place at Asheville Ear, Nose & Throat due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Our goal is to keep everyone, including our doctors, staff, and above all, our patients, as safe as possible. Due to extra precautions, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. We are offering curbside hearing aid services by appointment, as well as drop off hearing aid clean and checks.
Jeanie L. Paschall has worked at a variety of practices and clinics involving hearing and speech disorders within patients aging from premature infant to elderly rehabilitation and acute care. She has worked at The Eastern Carolina University Speech and Hearing Clinic, Carolina Audiology & Associates, Goldsboro Ear, Nose, and Throat, and Regional Rehabilitation Center at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. She has extensive experience with newborn hearing screening, ABR, OAE, ECOG. She maintains a membership with the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology.
Dr. Carrie Wentz obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from West Virginia University in 2016. She then moved to Florida and obtained her Doctorate of Audiology degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 2020. Dr. Wentz joined Asheville Ear Nose and Throat in June 2020 as a clinical audiologist.
Dr. Wentz is part of the cochlear implant team at AENT working with adults with cochlear implants. She also works with patients with BAHA implants. In addition to implants, Dr. Wentz performs hearing aid fittings and follow up care, Lyric hearing aid fittings, and vestibular evaluations. Born with bilateral hearing loss, Dr. Wentz wears binaural BAHA implants.
Her personal experiences are what inspired her to go into audiology as a career. Dr. Wentz moved to Asheville with her husband and their two dogs to be closer to their families who reside in West Virginia. In her spare time, Dr. Wentz enjoys hiking, kayaking, cuddling with her dogs and reading.
Meghann Davies is a licensed Doctor of Audiology with experience helping people achieve healthy hearing. She specializes in the evaluation and non-medical treatment of hearing loss and has extensive training in hearing evaluation and rehabilitative audiology including hearing instrument dispensing and patient-centered counseling.
Dr. Sara Schaetzka has been practicing audiology with Asheville ENT since 2014. She completed her 4th year audiology doctoral externship with our practice in 2015 and has worked with the practice since.

B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology from Andrews University (2011)
Dr. Schaetzka holds a North Carolina audiology license, maintains Certificate of Clinic Competency in Audiology (CCC-A), and is a fellow with the American Academy of Audiology. Her role as a clinical audiologist with our practice includes diagnostic hearing evaluations, vestibular assessments, electrophysiologic diagnostics, fitting and dispensing traditional hearing aids as well as Lyric and osseointegrated devices. She enjoys working with all ages. Helping her patients and their loved ones become successful communicators is a top priority as an audiologist. When she is not in clinic, Dr. Schaetzka is outdoors hiking or staying in playing guitar or sewing.
A native Ohioan, Mrs. Hazlett moved to Asheville and joined Asheville Ear, Nose and Throat as Director of Audiology in 2019.
She obtained both her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders and her Master's degree in Audiology from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. She served as Lead Audiologist at the Delaware Speech and Hearing Center in Delaware, Ohio for nearly 22 years. Mrs. Hazlett is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and holds certification from the American Speech Language Hearing Association and is licensed to practice audiology in North Carolina. She also maintains a NC Hearing Dealers and Fitting license.
Dr. Chuzie received her doctorate of Audiology from Ohio University in May of 2021 after completing her 4th year fellowship right here at AENT! Her areas of interest include diagnostic testing, cochlear implants, vestibular testing, and hearing aids. Her highest priorities are providing compassionate, evidenced-based, and patient-centered care. The connections she builds with her patients are what motivate her as a doctor of audiology, and she is inspired by them daily. When she's not in the office, Dr. Chuzie is out hiking, trail-running, exploring Asheville, and spending time with friends and family.
A Colorado native, Dr. Runge completed her education at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She also spent time in Philadelphia where she was fortunate to complete her clinical externship at the Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine. Dr. Runge thoroughly enjoys working in all disciplines of audiology from serving those with hearing aids and cochlear implants, to those with dizziness and balance disorders. Her passion for audiology stems from its power to allow those with hearing loss regain their sense of hearing and reinstate one’s ability to actively participate in life again. Outside of the office, Dr. Runge enjoys exploring the Asheville food scene and spending time in the great outdoors with her adorable dog, Graham.
