“LEAGUE FOR HARD OF HEARING now CENTER FOR COMMINICATION AND HEARING is where my husband and I went for excellent hearing g advice, care, up to date hearing aids, and helpful knowledge about hearing. He was surprised and positive as was I. Now some thirteen years later, no longer living in NY, I visited from another state to test my own hearing. It remains excellent! When we went we saw babies, youn and old, people from all walks of live and multiple cultures; upscale suited business people, t-shirt people, joggers, all kinds of us humans! It is for everybody. This time near lunch hour, the waiting room was not full. Who’s happy about getting aids. Well, I am not thrilled to be losing hearing but was thrilled to know I can do something about it. I got great advice from a kind and experienced audiologist who is sending me for more tests based on my exam. She is thorough and I feel the next steps on this journey are in the best hands . I highly recommend this place. I think the data will show they likely see more people per year than any facility. The audiologists have no particular hearing devices or manufacturers that they favor; the ones they "favor" are the ones that work best for the individual patient's particular hearing loss. The audiologists are all highly skilled and professional and their testing equipment is state of the art. I have been a CHC patient since it was called the League for the Hard of Hearing--and that's a long time. They treat patients of all ages from Toddlers to the Elderly and with all sorts of hearing loss. I unreservedly recommend the Center and its staff.”

“I have had a progressive and now profound hearing loss for almost 50 years. The Center for Hearing and Communication has provided me with the care I needed during that time. I started at CHC wearing two hearing aids in the 1980s. On August 23rd, I will celebrate the fifth anniversary of my cochlear implant. CHC Staff provides me with the services I need to cope with my steadily deteriorating hearing. I have an unusual hearing loss that requires special attention from my audiologist. The technical department found a material for ear molds I am not allergic to. The support and caring of CHC as staff has made my hearing loss journey special because I know that if I have a problem, someone at CHC will be able to help me. ”

“I saw audiologist Susan Adams yesterday at CHC. I could not have asked for a better experience. The wire connecting my earmold to my hearing aid was too short. Susan Adams quickly affixed a new wire that fits better. She tested my hearing both with my hearing aids and without; she also tested my hearing via bone conduction. In addition, she looked in my right ear and saw the sore I mentioned, and recommended I see a dermatologist to check it out. She even called Oticon to see if the scan of my earmolds was still on file. She determined I will need new earmolds because my present earmolds are causing the sore; it seems the inside of my ears have less skin than they used to and now the earmolds are slightly too big which causes soreness when I insert them. Susan Adams explained I will probably have to go without the right aid while the sore in that ear heals; it is much more significant than the sore in the left ear. After three months or so when the dermatologist feels it has healed enough, I will have to come back to CHC to get new earmold impressions made that fit my ears better. Susan is so very patient and clear in her assessment of any problems I have. And she has been consistent throughout the 20+ years I know her. CHC is the best hearing aid practice I know; the audiologists are knowledgeable, pleasant to deal with and treat the whole person, not just your ears!! ”

“I already was aware that I had otosclorosis when I had my first hearing exam at CHC. Their exams are very comprehensive. But what I like best about CHC is the community they provide for the hearing impaired. Where I live I do not have that so I really enjoy going back once a year.”
