“I was having trouble getting adequate volume out of my hearing aids, and instead of getting help I just put them aside for about eight months. I now thought I needed them because hearing some of the younger students while subbing at the middle school was getting difficult. Within fifteen minutes Carmen diagnosed the problem and I was hearing as good as day one. “This is a long review, but please take the time to read this! I would highly recommend Dr. Jeff King at Hearing Associates. He is wonderful with kids. We have a 5 year old d/hoh son with severe bilateral hearing loss. Even with hearing aids, weekly speech and d/hoh therapy sessions his speech is still very delayed. Dr. King is very patient, enunciates words so that he can better understand and can use some functional ASL to communicate with him. Recently, one of my son's hearing aids stopped working and I contacted Hearing Associates. They were able to get us in the very next day! Unfortunately, the hearing aid was not repairable. Dr. King personally called into the manufacturer and the warranty on his hearing aids expired FIVE days prior. Dr. King was able to talk them into extending the warranty an extra 6 months and they expedited the repair and shipment of the hearing aid at no cost to us! Keep in mind, we had never even seen him before, so all that effort for someone that he had never met and wasn't even his patient at that time. When the hearing aid came in, Dr. King aligned with my son's previous provider to transfer his most recent settings to program the hearing aid without us having to drive to Des Moines. He also coordinated with my son's speech therapist and the AEA's speech therapist, d/hoh teacher, and audiologist. I do not know what kind of service most people receive, but his commitment to patient care and care coordination really impressed us. My son really likes Dr. King and cooperates with him really well (which is often difficult with a very active 5-year old boy!). That goes a long way in obtaining reliable hearing screening results to ensure that his hearing aids are programmed to an optimal setting for him. Additionally, the Hearing Associates office staff are exceptional! They are so friendly and kind every single time I call. They are very helpful and accommodating. They have a walk-in clinic which has been a life saver for us when we need quick troubleshooting. My son's hearing loss is very personal and dear to me, as this truly impacts a large portion of his life. Hearing Associates makes us feel like his care is important to them-- like they truly care about him. If you are reading this, researching for a new audiology center, don't go just anywhere. Go to Hearing Associates where you can be assured that your best interest will be their primary goal.”

If I were to rate Hearing Associates on a scale of 1 to 10, it most definitely would get a 10. I'm good friends with Alex, Director of Operations for Hearing Associates. He & I are members of the River City Barbershop Chorus. For a long time, he has been wanting me to get my hearing checked, as he felt that Hearing Associates would be able to help me. Because of other health issues, that suggestion was put on hold for a while. Once those issues were resolved, an appointment was made. There are no words that will adequately describe the feelings I have for this place. Everything was done & handled in an as professional a way that I know of.
