Dedicated to helping our patients understand and communicate more effectively throughout the course of their lives, in as many different acoustic environments as possible. Through education and information, we can help the patients stabilize their comprehension with prescription amplification and proper usage of their hearing instrumentation.
Megan Hinzey
Audiology Assistant
Mrs. Megan Hinzey, our Audiology Assistant and Front Office manager has been a valued member of our team since 2019. She coordinates with our patients, doctors, insurance companies, insurances, workers comp, Veterans, and manufacturers daily. She sees patients for hearing aid cleanings, minor repairs, and counseling. She coordinates our busy schedule for over 8000 patients and our staff.
Megan was born and raised in West Virginia. She has an associate degree in computer information technology & bookkeeping. She, also, graduated from the Wood County School of Practical Nursing & obtained her nursing license.
Before joining the Sarasota Hearing Center family, Megan spent the past 20+ years in the medical field.
In her free time, Megan enjoys ballroom dancing and kayaking with her husband. She loves going to the beach and having game nights with her 3 daughters. Her favorite activity is spoiling her granddaughters.

With over a decade of experience in customer service and a strong background in social services and healthcare, I bring a well-rounded, compassionate, and client-focused approach to every role I undertake. I spent five years working as a Case Manager in a nonprofit organization, where I supported diverse populations through crisis intervention, resource coordination, and advocacy—helping individuals and families navigate complex social systems to achieve stability and growth.
Following my work in the nonprofit sector, I transitioned into the dental field, gaining hands-on experience in patient care, administrative coordination, and front office operations for over a year. My deep-rooted commitment to service excellence, combined with my ability to adapt across industries, makes me an asset in both people-facing and operational roles.
Throughout my career, I’ve consistently leveraged my customer service expertise—spanning over 10 years—to foster trust, build relationships, and ensure a positive experience for every client or patient I support.

“Wish I could give 10 stars. After about 8 years of trying different hearing aids and exams my hearing has finally improved. The exam was the most comprehensive ever and the programming was the most tailored to the hearing results. The service was most professional and accommodating including the receptionist. I highly recommended anyone with a hearing problem to schedule a visit. ”

“Been wearing hearing aids since 2011, using 5 different audiologists during that time. John Hinzey is far and away the BEST I've experienced! Thorough - patient - takes time to explain, even in detail if you desire detail. Reasonably priced. Megan at the front desk is friendly, compassionate, and has a good smile, helping a person feel comfortable. I was treated as a real person, not a pocketbook of $$. Modern hearing aids have AI and many adjustments, and proper custom fitting is vital. John doesn't stop until the hearing aids fit YOU. My Phonak Audéo I90-Spheres are simply phenomenal. Thank you John! This practice is a keeper. NOTE: John and Megan are the NEW OWNERS of this practice. We work with over 2000 different hearing devices from over 20 different manufacturers so we can offer a variety of styles including digital and programmable. For all patients your free consultation, will include:
- Hearing test
- A Video Otoscopic inspection of your ears for wax, (you can see what we do!)
- Wax removal from your ears by an Audiologist with over 35 years of experience
- A complete hearing consultation
- A demonstration of the latest technology if applicable
- A complete report of your hearing results sent to your primary physician
- Information on FREE assistive listening devices available to Florida residents.

- Inspection and cleaning of earmolds
- A thorough drying of perspiration and humidity in our Vacuum Chamber
- Polishing and tightening of battery contacts
- Cleaning and lubrication of volume controls
- Lubrication of any switches/memory buttons
- Cleaning of switches and/or memory buttons
- Cleaning of microphone and receiver openings
- Check of aid for feedback (squeal)
- Electroacoustic performance test
