"Hearing the leaky water faucet, the wind whistle, and a babbling brook may seem like normal background noise to those who have not experienced any hearing loss. Often one forgets that those high frequency sounds ever existed. It is not a necessity, rather, it is a privilege to be able to hear." - Nicole Burgis
Dr. Nicole Burgis obtained her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Sacramento State University and her Doctorate in Audiology from Pacific University of Oregon. In August of 2020, Nicole accepted an Audiologist position at Santa Cruz Ear Nose and Throat, where she performs comprehensive hearing evaluations, ototoxic monitoring, tinnitus evaluations, vestibular assessments, and dispenses hearing devices.
Dr. Burgis has extended her education in tinnitus management by obtaining Certificate Holder of Tinnitus Management (CH-TM) credentials through American Academy of Audiology. This credential represents her competency in working with tinnitus patients to evaluate and help manage their tinnitus.
Dr. Burgis' promise to her patient’s is to follow best practice, stay up to date with changes in the field of Audiology, and to make each patient feel heard and their concerns addressed.

“I have not seen Terrence in a couple of years but finding his card, prompted me to write a FANTASTIC review about an amazingly kind and compassionate individual that has left a positive and last impression on me. If you go anywhere for hearing aid needs, GO HERE. The entire staff is professional, and organized, and I only had great experiences each time I came. I got a hearing aid through this office and bc I ended up having an ear operation and restoring some lost hearing, I no longer go here. Terence was always friendly, and had a love for the outdoors. I remember once he saved me a doctor's visit by carefully removing some wax from my teen daughter's ear. I was so appreciative. He and his office exceeded expectations. If I could give him move stars I would.”
“They did a great job with follow-up and referral. ”
“She's knowledgeable and explains really well. She got exactly what I needed.”
“Terry is great.”
“They had a new technician who worked on my ears and she didn't have any idea what she was doing. It should have taken her a minute to clean the one side, and it took her over an hour, and that wasn't even the side that was plugged up. She got the doctor for the second ear, and I don't think he finished his job either.”
