Dr. Amy Nichols is the Assistant Professor Clinical Coordinator for Audiology at the Speech and Hearing Center. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and her doctorate in audiology from the University of Alabama. Dr. Nichols specializes in amplification, audiologic rehabilitation, aging and tinnitus management. She leads a team of highly qualified and experienced audiologists dedicated to patient satisfaction.

The University of South Alabama Speech and Hearing Clinic is operated and maintained as a clinical instruction facility of the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology in the Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions.

The clinic serves two primary purposes: to provide the citizens of Mobile, AL and surrounding areas with quality hearing healthcare, speech and language services, and to provide the supervised clinical experiences needed by the students for graduation and to obtain professional licensure/certification. 

Because the USA Speech and Hearing Clinic functions as a service facility and teaching facility, activities and procedures address both purposes. Diagnostic and treatment services in speech, language and hearing are provided to people of all ages and with all types of speech-language and hearing disorders.

Hearing care services

The University of South Alabama's Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology has a full-service audiology clinic offering the people of the Mobile area complete hearing care services. People of all ages can receive assessment and intervention services at the USA Speech and Hearing Clinic.
