“The decision about who to work with wasn't straightforward for me, and I'm hoping I can make it much easier for you. The diagnosis of my hearing loss originated at another ENT/Audiology practice. All was well 'til it came to actually choosing a hearing aid. That session cost me $198 out-of-pocket, and was scheduled for an hour. It actually only took about 20 minutes, and the gap between what the audiologist actually discussed with me versus what she typed up (during the visit!) into the system summary report was incredible. I didn't discover 'til I logged in and read it that she'd actually chosen a device for me, including picking out a color - never having told me who the manufacturer was or what alternatives I had! Fortunately, the order isn't placed 'til they verify what my Medicare Advantage plan would cover. Turns out, Aetna only covers services and devices sold by a specific provider. Helpful online reviews spared me the nightmare of using them. YouTube videos educated me on what to look for in a top tier practice, and Audiology Associates of Deerfield meets virtually every requirement. I only wish I had started with them! My first appointment here, which cost $250, included a re-test of my hearing (which I requested and didn't get done because the audiologist told me she didn't have the lab reserved), a thorough interview to learn about my particular issues and lifestyle considerations, an in-depth and informative discussion of hearing aid features/options that would accommodate my both my needs and personal preferences, and full disclosure of the costs associated with those choices. I got to try on and test two different manufacturer's models. Within a week, I was scheduled for the fitting. Dr. Christian used real ear measurements to ensure the best fit and adjustments for my particular prescription. He explained virtually every aspect the equipment and software, including how to handle, clean, insert, adjust, and charge my hearing aids. You'll always have his full attention, and will never feel rushed or like your questions or concerns are being diminished or dismissed. His goal is clearly to make your devices work optimally for you. I could not be happier to have found this practice!”

First, she is super knowledgeable with advanced degrees in audiology, all the way to a Ph.D. This is always important to me. But she is very, very easy to talk to and guess what, she listens. How rare is that. This is probably because she is a “people person” and connects tonight away. You can tell she enjoys helping her patients. I needed hearing aids and she taught me about my choices, which were many and very different. So it was a learning curve that she took me on, and I appreciated it. She didn’t say this one is for you. So I had time to think about my choice, and I decided on a hearing aid that sits in my ear canal, and not outside resting on my ear. Even if I change my mind later I can change since she wants the best choice for me. I have super confidence Dr. Sherri has my interests in mind and she is the best.
