“I go to Atlantic Audiology and Dr. Gauthier every 6 months to remove wax build up that has been a problem for many years. Prior to Atlantic I went to a couple of different doctors and had mixed results. Sometime they use metal instruments that were uncomfortable and sometime painful. Dr. Gauthier uses a warm water irrigation system that works great and is very comfortable. She recommended a 6 month maintenance program so the wax doesn't build up and I'm in and out in 15 mins. I highly recommend Dr. Gauthier for making this process easy and comfortable. I also want to mention that the front office staff is always pleasant and helpful. ”

“My last hearing aids were purchased around 2006 and they were not performing well; I was having difficulty distinguishing certain letters as well as words. I really didn’t want to buy “new” hearing aid, especially since the price was over 6K. Dr. Gauthier explained to me the how hearing aid technology has changed in the last 10 years. The major improvements are digital signal processing (DSP), noise reduction through correlation with a 2nd reference microphone, and Wi-Fi connectivity via Bluetooth. My hearing aid manufacturer, i.e. Oticon has two optional devices that work in conjunction with your smartphone: (1) “ConnectClip” streams phone calls directly to the hearing aids, and (2) TV Adapter which streams your TV’s audio directly to your hearing aids. The TV Adapter has the added benefit of reducing the ambient room noise in the sound by injecting the TV audio at the ear drum. These hearing aids work great. There is a smartphone app which controls the hearing aids, ConnectClip and the TV Adapter. The only “Con” is the fact that batteries last half as long, approximately 2.5-3 days. ”
