As the owner and founder of Sound Relief Hearing Center, Dr. Julie Prutsman has dedicated her practice to treating tinnitus, decreased sound tolerance, and related hearing health issues.
She is a third-generation audiology professional with her grandfather entering into the field of hearing healthcare in the 1950s. After working in her family’s practice in Colorado and Las Vegas, NV, she decided to open one of her own focused on tinnitus. Since beginning Sound Relief Hearing Center in December 2011, her practice has helped thousands of patients and grown to nine offices in Colorado and Arizona.
Dr. Julie Prutsman grew up in Highlands Ranch and graduated from Highlands Ranch High School. She attended the University of Colorado – Boulder for graduate school and knew Colorado would always be her home state. Her husband, Patrick, is the General Manager and co-owner of Sound Relief. They have two wonderful children, Ethan and Hanna, and their rescue dog, Tori. In her free time, Dr. Julie loves reading, traveling, skiing, and spending time with family.
Justina Muniz
Audiology Assistant
Justina, a Colorado native, joined our team as the Patient Care Coordinator of our Westminster office in April 2019 and is now an Audiology Assistant. Justina finds true joy in helping others and is passionate about caring for our patients. She has worked in medical care for over 6 years and continues to find enjoyment and growth in her job.
In her free time, Justina enjoys many things including hiking, traveling, being active, and going to the gym, but mostly she enjoys spending time with her French Bulldog, Roskoe. She loves the outdoors and considers there is no lack of adventures for her and her pup in Colorado.

“I have tinnitus and hearing loss. What is so great is the constant adjustments to help keep my hearing at the best it could be. I had hearing aids before, set once and forgotten and that doesn't work. Each of us have different tones that we lose and it's not as easy as one fix does it all. Great team. It's great when I can hear!!!”

“Seven years ago, while my daughter was staying with me, she suggested that I should get my hearing checked. I had seen the Sound Relief Hearing Center ads on TV, and suspecting that ringing in my ears might be part of my problem, I made an appointment with Dr. Leah for testing. She did a great job interpreting my results, and fitting me with the perfect Oticon Hearing Aides, adjusted just right for my hearing loss and mild tinnitus. With these hearing aids I don’t seem to struggle as much with background noise in crowed places as some of my friends do, and my tinnitus is barely noticeable to me when I wear them. All these years later, I love going for follow up appointments to the Westminster office for cleaning or periodic adjustments to my devices. Dr. Leah is professional and personable, and the staff there are very helpful keeping me stocked with any supplies I need, or answering any question I might have. Best customer service around! I highly recommend them! ”

Sound Relief Tinnitus & Hearing Center is your locally-owned and trust resources for hearing help. We offer specialized audiology services, including tinnitus treatment, extensive diagnostic hearing testing, and solutions for decreased sound tolerance.
- Hearing & speech comprehensive testing/evaluation - a series of tests and inspections to assess the overall hearing health of a patient. If you want the best hearing test, you've come to the right place.
- Tinnitus assessment - tinnitus is common and often described as a "ringing, rushing or buzzing sound in the ears". The tinnitus assessment at Sound Relief combines tinnitus-specific tests, a comprehensive audiological evaluation, and tympanometry.
- Hyperacusis assessment - a hearing disorder for patients with a decreased tolerance for everyday noise/sounds at such high levels that it causes irritation, anxiety, or even physical pain.
- Hearing aid evaluation - based on your test results, needs, lifestyle and budget together we will determine which hearing device will best suite you.
- Hearing aid sales - rechargeable, background noise cancellation and Bluetooth streaming capability
- Custom made and fitted hearing aids - using an earmold impression of the patient's ear.
- Programming of hearing aids with your full prescription
- Real Ear Measurements (REM) - REMs are the gold standard in audiology for verification that the hearing aids are working as they should and providing the intended benefits inside the patient’s ear canal at the eardrum.
- Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions - This test measure frequencies in each ear and the audiologist interprets the results found.
- Removal and management of non-Impacted and impacted Cerumen (earwax).
