Randall King,
BC-HIS

Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences

I was born in Lubbock, Texas and part of a family of four generations that farmed in this area. My father, an entomologist, began working for agricultural chemical companies when I was five and we moved several times. I grew up in Texas, Mississippi, Connecticut, North Carolina, and finally back to Lubbock when I was sixteen. Although moving was difficult, I gained a perspective about our country and people that I would not trade for anything. Even today, I try to have an open attitude and an understanding of the process that an individual must go through in order to accept change. My mom was a speech pathologist and practiced at Methodist Hospital and in private practice. She gave me a lot of great advice in working with people who have health issues and has always supported me in working with hearing health.

Choosing the best technology for each individual’s hearing loss, at a reasonable price is my priority. I spend time with each person and help them to understand their hearing loss, the best hearing aid for them, the proper use and cleaning of their hearing aids, and the importance of being able to hear more clearly and comfortably. The true value of hearing aids is only achieved by working closely with a professional who cares about you and what you are experiencing. It has been rewarding to help people to hear again and satisfying to see the benefits to those struggling to hear. As a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist practicing since 1986, I am dedicated to helping people to hear and understand using the best technology at the best price.

Nelda Salazar

Office Coordinator

Nelda is our office coordinator, and she has had an interesting career. She graduated from high school in Edcouch, Texas and attended Texas Tech for two years when family obligations moved her into the work world. She worked as a Deputy Clerk in the Lubbock Courthouse for several years and as a Nurses Aid for a couple of years. She also worked for a large commercial real estate developer as an executive secretary. But it is our blessing that Nelda came to King Hearing Center in 2003 and put her organizational and people skills to work. Nelda was the oldest of five kids and helped her mother raise the family after her father passed away. She is patient and compassionate and helps to care for each patient as they adjust to using hearing aids. (Nelda also speaks Spanish fluently.)
