I’ve been in the hearing health industry for 30 years and have devoted my career to helping solve the problems of daily life caused by hearing loss.
First, as a technician, I attained the fundamental knowledge of hearing aid technology and practical skills from seeing how technology provides a better hearing experience if fit properly. I learned how variances in technology, testing, and fitting techniques impact success in hearing loss treatment and overall patient satisfaction. Because I was distressed by the level of patient care and attention available in our industry, I opened our first hearing center in 1994, for the sole purpose of focusing on our patient’s needs first. I have been doing that ever since, and I lead my team of professionals with this objective each day.
Hearing loss has a profound (negative) impact on those afflicted, but also on their loved ones. It touches every facet of life, health, mental well-being, and every interaction and relationship. Effective and professional treatment can profoundly change this.
In every interaction, we start by focusing on how to improve lives with better hearing. With solutions, not sales. We start by listening — to patients and to their loved ones. Kyle has been helping people hear their loved ones and enjoy life since 1999.
Kyle’s credentials certainly demonstrate her expertise in the field, but her working experience, listening and problem-solving skills are what make her one of the very best at what she does – which is to help people hear the sounds of life again so they can enjoy conversations with family and friends, remain independent in managing their own affairs and health, and engage in life. She invests the time in understanding each patient’s unique needs and hearing challenges so that she can provide care and options specifically designed for the individual. Kyle is Lyric certified, American Brain Council certified and listed on the American Tinnitus Association’s directory of tinnitus treatment providers.
Kyle graduated from the University of Akron with a B.A. in Communicative Disorders and Certificate in Sign Language and then went on to earn her Masters in Audiology at Kent State University.
Dr. Omallah Bush joined our practice in 2020 and brings with her many years of leadership and experience. She believes that every person deserves the opportunity of better hearing and the best available treatment for hearing loss and tinnitus. In keeping with our values as a practice, Omallah’s approach is are tailored to each patient’s needs and circumstances with individualized care at all levels. She takes the time to know each patient and loved ones, understanding all aspects of lifestyle, needs, budget, listening or other hearing health challenges. Dr. Bush provides patients the very best in hearing technology, and highest level of service and support. Her goal is to provide a better quality of life for all patents.
Dr. Bush earned a Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Florida, Master’s Degree in Audiology from Kent State University and continuous and specialized training in tinnitus treatment, deep fitting techniques and cognitive effects of hearing loss and tailored care and treatment.
Dr. Ellen Foltz is a great addition to the Modern Hearing / Choice Hearing team. Ellen’s goal as part of our team is to help treat the 42 million Americans suffering the debilitating effects of hearing loss and tinnitus. Ellen enjoys educating her patients and the community about hearing loss, tinnitus, treatment options and ways to overcome the negative effect of hearing impairment. Her passion is improving quality of life through better hearing by working together to meet their individual goals and needs. Dr. Foltz enjoys building personable rapport and implementing clinical best practice to best serve her patients.
Ellen’s credentials include Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Kent State University, Doctorate in Audiology from Central Michigan University, specialized tinnitus training and American Brain Counsel certification. Before joining Modern Hearing/Choice Hearing, she worked for a private practice Ear, Nose, and Throat office. Dr. Foltz is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by the Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

“My wife told me I couldn't hear, maybe selective hearing as the saying goes. I decided to have my hearing checked. No it wasn't selective hearing. I made an appointment at the New Philadelphia Office. The office was very clean, the staff were very polite and professional. I could never say enough good complements about my doctor, not only did she show me how much hearing i have lost but she explained the results to me in a way that i actually could comprehend. “My mother had been living in isolation for many years. At that time, she was living in Lancaster, Ohio. As a daughter, with family members living with dementia, my mother's evaluation, which resulted with a very positive outlook is paramount. I've felt helpless up until now. Decided to reach out to Amy Beamer-Stein, once again, at Choice Hearing. It had been many years since we'd updated my mother's first pair of hearing aids. Mom began hearing immediately. And, she also engaged in decision making, regarding her hearing choices. This is instrumental, as my mother is now able to take a more active role in evaluating her own progress, treatment possibilities, regarding her personal preference options. My mother's cognitive functions began improving by immediately, once the blockages were removed from her ear canal. and her hearing loss level. As mentioned earlier, hearing loss been upgraded to a moderate loss for both ears, rather than more severe. Equipping her with new hearing aids that utilize rechargeable batteries and a docking station ranked number one as far as options do. She can independently put the both hearing aids in it's own individual docking port. When she arises, the aids are then removed from the case and replaced in the correct ears. "Now that she's had her new hearing aids, for nearly two months, read on and you'll "see" as well as hear. Mom's "most incredible positive update" to date, was accomplished, proving gained independence while reflecting gained confidence during routine questioning, just last Wednesday. After arriving at Cleveland Clinic for a routine basic procedure, Mom was called up and questioned by hospital personnel, regarding proof of insurance and any insurance recent updates to her insurance during her routine registration. Yes, my 89 years-young mother, both heard, and answered, four of the five questions correctly, that she was asked independently, as if I weren't standing off to the left, and behind her! All of a sudden, an epiphany came rushing into my mind: God chose to give me my mom back❣️ ”
