Dr. McDonnell is licensed in Florida, and Georgia, and received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree from the University of South Alabama in 1990. After many years of practicing in Alabama and Florida she completed her Doctor of Audiology degree from Salus University in 2003. She has more than 35 years experience dispensing hearing aids and working with hearing impaired patients.

Shawn has worked with McDonnell Hearing Solutions full time since 2019. He began as a Patient Care Coordinator and worked his way up in the company. Shawn completed his coursework and passed the International Licensing Examination for Hearing Care Professionals. When not at work he enjoys spending time with his friends, at the gym, and with his dog Bear.

Hearing Testing →
This hearing evaluation will help establish if there is a hearing loss or not.
Consultations →
Upon completion of the hearing evaluation we will review your test with you and answer any questions that you may have. If the results reveal that you have a hearing loss, we will establish the best strategy to approach your hearing needs.
Hearing Aids →
The most effective medical recommendation is based on the patient's hearing condition. Many times hearing aids are the best option, and we discuss and fit all different makes and models of hearing devices according to a patient’s individual needs. Hearing aid manufacturers that we fit include Phonak, Resound, Widex, Oticon, and Starkey.
Hearing Aid Fitting and Programming →
We use Real Ear Measurement (REM) to verify and confirm that the hearing aids are providing the appropiate amplificaton for the patient's uniques hearing needs.
Hearing Aid Adjustments →
Our hearing can change over time, and when it does, the settings in your hearing aid may need to be updated to match your current needs.
Hearing Aid Repairs and Services →
We can clean and fix hearing aids in the office. If the repair is beyond what we are able to fix, we will send the device to the manufacturer and have it back to you shortly.
Hearing Protection →
We provide custom hearing protection for the best noise cancellation possible. It is so important to protect your ears, as the damage done can lead to permanent hearing loss.
Tinnitus Management →
Tinnitus is often described as a ringing or buzzing sound in one or both ears. We provide management strategies to diminish the intensity of tinnitus.
Ear Wax Management →
Sometimes ear wax can be impacted and cause irritation and hearing troubles. We are able to safely remove ear wax from the canal to improve hearing quality and comfort.
