Audiologist

Joan founded Atlantic Hearing Care in 2007 upon her extensive experience providing and managing hearing healthcare services for over two decades.   Previous positions include Regional Manager for HearUSA,  Director of Communication Disorders at New England Rehabilitation Hospital and Director of Audiology at Union Hospital. Joan received her Doctorate in Audiology from Salus University in 2004, her M.A. in Audiology from the University of Connecticut in 1980 and her B.S. in Speech and Hearing from Northeastern University in 1978.  She is  Board Certified in Audiology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.  She is on the board of the Entheos Audiology Cooperative, and the Seaglass Village in Swampscott.  She is active in professional and community groups as a past Board Member of the Massachusetts Academy of Audiology and Past President of the Swampscott Rotary Club  and is a past board member of the Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor and past Advisor to the Rotary ElderAct Club of Swampscott and Marblehead.

Joan established the North Shore Hearing Foundation in 2017 to be able to provide hearing aids and services to those who do not have the insurance or resources to afford quality hearing care.  She is passionate about providing the best possible hearing products and services to children and adults and feels fortunate every day to have such a wonderful group of patients and their families.

Lisa joined Atlantic Hearing Care in 2013 following over 25 years of providing and managing hearing care services, most recently as co-owner of Brookline Hearing Services.  Prior to that she was the Operations Manager for HearUSA where she and Joan first worked together. After receiving a B.S. in Business Administration from Salem State University in 1988 she started her career working for the former Thomas Fell Company and became a Hearing Instrument Specialist in 1992.  She demonstrated her commitment to continuing education by achieving Board Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences in June of 2014.  

Lisa wears many hats for us. As a Hearing Instrument Specialist Lisa enjoys helping her patients get the most benefit, they can from their hearing aids and assistive listening devices.  Her warm and friendly personality puts patients and their families at ease. As our Practice Manager she keeps the behind the scenes billing and front desk operations flowing smoothly. She also is the Program Coordinator for the North Shore Hearing Foundation, helping candidates complete the financial application and understand the process.

Taylor Chabot,

Audiologist

Taylor joined Atlantic Hearing Care in 2018 as a Doctoral Student Intern from Salus University.  After completing her year of internship with us and graduating with her Doctoral degree she joined us in 2019 as a staff Audiologist.  Taylor is very enthusiastic about all things hearing and is very good at matching people to technology. 

In addition to providing services to local patients as part of the North Shore Hearing Foundation, Taylor traveled with our partner Hearing the Call to Ecuador to help give the gift of hearing to children and adults.  She is a lifelong learner and has completed additional training in the evaluation and programming of cochlear implants and in cognitive hearing science.  Her patients appreciate her patience and warmth.

“I was in Peabody today and met with Lisa she was very thorough and had the answer to all my questions but i didn't have many because she answered most of them before i needed to ask she took the time to make sure i was comfortable with the system i have she also told me if i had ANY questions or problems to call and do not wait till my next appt.i could not be happier with the service i got and will recommend Atlantic to anybody i know that needs the help to hear better i did go someplace else before i went to Atlantic and felt like i was wasting his time as it turns out he was wasting mine i feel confident with me choice and hope if you are reading this for piece of mind it helped mine knowing she truly cares. ”
