Dr. John Koonz, owner of Hearing and Balance Associates, earned his doctorate degree at the Arizona School of Health Sciences. His prior clinical experience includes time spent working closely with a renowned expert in the area of vestibular diagnosis and treatment. While diagnosing hearing loss and fitting sophisticated digital hearing devices are a top priority, his first love is working with patients suffering with dizziness and balance disorders. Dr. Koonz is a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and has dual citizenship for the United States and Canada.
Dr. Sarah Hamman received her doctorate degree in audiology from Gallaudet University in Washington, DC, where she gained a unique experience growing as an audiologist and learning from the perspective of the Deaf community using American Sign Language. She completed an intensive pediatric audiology residency at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. In addition to the pediatric and Deaf populations, she loves providing comprehensive care to her adult patients. She was raised in sunny Arizona but is excited to now live in Tallahassee with her husband, a professor at Florida State University, and their baby Lucy.
