“I called about a plugged right ear. I was told the doctors procedure was for me to have a hearing test first. I wear hearing aids and I wasn’t complaining about them. I then saw the doctor who recommended 8 weeks of Flonase for the plugged ear. He also mentioned that there were lots of new hearing aides that could be an improvement over my hearing. Since I had not come for hearing aids I declined. The Audiologist and the doctor each submitted claims to my Medicare advantage plan. Part of each was paid but indicated a balance was owed to the audiologist and to the doctor. My copay for specialists is a specific amount so I had written a check to Central Oregon ENT for that amount which was cashed. I then got an additional bill from Central Oregon ENT. The billing clerk said the copay went to the audiologist, only. When different service providers will be billing, the patient should know in advance. In this case they were under one umbrella of Central Oregon ENT which led me to believe I had one copay. I think the practice of requiring 2 payments when you reasonably believe it is one provider is deceptive. ”

“I made an appointment with Central Oregon ENT and hearing followed by sending them paperwork with my insurance card. I was not told my insurance was NON-Contracted and that I would have to pay. After the fact I was told this.”
