As a Doctor of Audiology and Hearing Specialist at Intermountain Audiology, Dr. Stirland is able to use his love of teaching to educate his community and patients about the effects of untreated hearing loss on the brain…after all, a mild hearing loss is a huge problem (200% Increase in Dementia Risk).
As an audiologist at an Excellence in Audiology member-clinic, Dr. Stirland’s commitment to treating hearing loss, and the associated cognitive aspects of hearing loss, with NeuroTechnology™ solutions has him as a sought after hearing specialist in Southern Utah and Southern Nevada with 5-star rating in both regions.
When he is not working directly with patients, he is training other Excellence in Audiology specialists across the Intermountain West on treatment protocols and NeuroTechnology™ solutions.
I enjoy my role as our First Impression Specialist at Intermountain Audiology Hearing Clinics. Each month, I interact with thousands of patients in Southern Utah, and I am responsible for greeting each patient who comes through the door and making sure they have a fabulous patient experience, including a beverage and a treat (or two).
I was born in Southern Illinois and grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. Shortly thereafter, I moved to Denver for 14 years before the cold weather got the better of me and I moved to St. George, Utah in 1995. I have two grown daughters and love getting together with them when they are in town. In my spare time away from the office, I really enjoy the mountains and hiking along the canyons. It is not as often as I would like, but a few times a month you can find me out enjoying the local golf courses in Southern Utah. As an avid golfer, I am always looking for someone to hit the links with… just give me a call! In addition to golf, I am probably best known in the community for my many medals won bowling in the Huntsman Senior Games each year.
Growing up in Southern California during the baby boom era gave me an opportunity for lots of neighborhood friends, fond memories of playing night games during the summer months, and in general, an exciting childhood. I was always an exuberant child with lots of energy. I liked going to school, but more for the social aspect than the academics. In high school, I was on the Student Council, was a member of many clubs, sang in the choir, and would cheer the sports teams on to victory as a cheerleader. I was active and lived life to its fullest. During college, I met my wonderful husband and married at the young age of 18. We have been married for 36 years, have two sons, three daughters, two sons-in-law and a grandson (who is really cute). I am one lucky gal.
My husband and I moved our family to Saint George, Utah, in 1993. The red mountains, beautiful landscape, fantastic hiking trails, and friendly people have enriched our lives. I was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom for 18 years and help raise our children. When my last child graduated from school, I entered the medical field, where I became aware of Intermountain Audiology and their goal to help improve the lives of those with hearing loss and help them continue to live their lives to the fullest through improved hearing. I have already met so many wonderful people who are so excited about their new hearing devices, and I love to hear their stories about what a difference it has made for them. I’m excited to be part of Intermountain Audiology and look forward to meeting and getting to know each individual who comes by my exit desk and allows me to leave that last, best, impression!

“LuAnn has been very gracious in working with me remotely since the Mesquite office closed. Appreciated.”
“I reluctantly agreed to get my hearing checked after years of thinking ‘if people would only enunciate’. Well thanks to Intermountain Audiology, I can now hear what is being said and I can simply chose to ignore it. Beats asking ‘what?’, ‘I’m sorry, can you repeat that’! It’s truly not a laughing matter, so many of us suffer through a conversation and soon shut ourselves away because hearing becomes a chore. Best money ever invested, in my hearing! I purchased the aids and they are great. Thank you Luann and Robert and to all the wonderful Intermountain Audiology team! You are always so welcoming, I’d give you more than 5 stars if I could!!! ”
“It was pleasant. It was thorough, and helpful. I was satisfied.”
“I appreciated their concern about my hearing needs. I don't feel ready yet for the news about my hearing but I will let them know when I am ready. Thanks for the help. Always you are friendly with the people. ”
“I appreciated Dr. Sparrow's interest and concern for my hearing needs. I was not prepared for the testing on the computer so felt a bit rattled by it. I am adjusting to having the hearing aids available when someone calls on my phone but it has improved the volume for me a lot. It was a good visit and I appreciated the time he gave to my needs. Thank you.”
