Audiologist

Dr. Gregory Frazer entered private practice Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing in 1982. For 14 years he owned and operated Hearing Care Associates, which had 23 offices and was one of the largest audiology private practices in the U.S. Dr. Frazer is a well-known clinician and teacher, and was the first audiologist to obtain dual doctorates in Audiology, both a PhD. in Audiology as well as the new Clinical Doctorate of Audiology, the AuD. He is UC San Diego/San Diego State University Adjunct Professor in Audiology 2008-Present, and also teaches at the University of Pacific 2019-Present. He is Board Certified by Board for American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, American Academy of Audiology, and the National Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences. Dr. Frazer received the Academy of Audiology Leo Doerfler Outstanding Audiologist Award 2014, the AT Still University Distinguished Service Award 2016, and the AT Still University Clinical Preceptor Award 2016. Dr. Frazer specializes in the evaluation and treatment of vertigo, dizziness and hearing and balance disorders. Dr. Frazer is experienced in working with infants, children, and adults. He is semi-fluent in Spanish and Sign Language.

Kathy earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara followed by her Masters in Audiology from San Diego State University.  She has been with Pacific Hearing, Inc. since 2007. She really enjoys giving each patient the extra time, expertise and care they deserve.

Dr. Julie Skille is a licensed audiologist who earned her doctorate in audiology from the University of Florida. She holds a certificate of clinical competence in audiology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. Dr. Skille provides the best possible hearing care solutions based on her patient’s individual needs.

Dr. Sofiya Krauss is a licensed audiologist who earned her doctorate degree in audiology from A.T. Still University in Arizona. She is specifically trained to perform audiological diagnostics, dispense and fit hearing aids according to her patient’s individual needs, lifestyles and budgets.

Dr. Carissa Bennett graduated with honors from UC Santa Barbara in Speech and Hearing Science in 1978, obtained a Masters in Audiology from the University of Washington in 1981, and an AuD in Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2003. She was an Audiologist at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles from 1981-1986, with an emphasis on medical-legal audiology with Aram Glorig, MD, and conducted hearing aid research with James Sheehy, MD. She entered private practice in 1986 with Dr. Gregory Frazer and co-owned and operated Hearing Care Associates. Dr. Bennett is experienced in working with infants, children, and adults, and specializes in diagnostic audiological evaluations. Dr. Bennett is Board Certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Her Hobbies are reading, music, and international cuisine.

Dr. Sheila Shalom received her Doctorate in Audiology from A.T Still University in Mesa, AZ in 2018. Her clinical experiences include rotations at a variety of settings such as the renowned Mayo Clinic of Arizona. As the Academy of Audiology Student President for her program, she led numerous volunteer opportunities and enhanced awareness in the hearing health community. She attended the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) for her undergraduate degree where she graduated cum laude in 2013. She is a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Shalom is very passionate about the field of audiology and this passion is reflected in the care of her patients. Dr. Shalom enjoys playing sports, spending time with her family, and cooking.

Ashley Chwastyk,

Dr. Ashley Chwastyk graduated with degrees in both Communication and Sociology and a minor in Hearing & Speech Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2012. She earned her doctorate of audiology (AuD) from the joint program between University of California, San Diego and San Diego State University in 2017, and she completed her doctoral externship at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Her strong appreciation for music led her to focus her doctoral research on improving music enjoyment for patients with significant hearing loss. These experi- ences gave her a deep compassion for people with hearing impairment, and she now uses her broad expertise with evidence-based audiometric practices to provide the best amplification available to people of all ages. When not in the clinic, Dr. Chwastyk is usually off on an outdoor adventure either backpacking, windsurfing, off-roading, or hiking.

Pacific Hearing, Inc is a group of highly trained professionals and support staff dedicated to exceeding customer expectations by providing the highest quality service to our patients, their families, their doctors, and the community. Each Audiologist is university trained with either a Masters or Doctorate degree in Audiology, a minimum of 7-9 years of university coursework and training.

We are committed to helping each patient manage their hearing loss for effective communication with their family and friends by providing the resources to minimize the negative consequences of hearing loss. We are also firm believers of appropriate medical management of hearing loss. When a patient needs medical intervention, we discuss these needs with the patient and make every effort to also communicate with the family physician and/or ENT physician.

We work with each patient to achieve a comfortable fit, as well as satisfaction with the degree of aided hearing improvement. If a patient is not satisfied at the end of the 30 day adjustment period, the patient can obtain a 100% refund.
