“This review has nothing to do with the care I received, the audiologist I saw was professional, knowledgeable, and caring. I'm writing this as a warning to others about their billing and over pricing for common procedures. I went in for a "hearing test" two months ago and received a nearly $1,200 bill (AFTER insurance adjustments). Specifically, I received a "comprehensive audiometry threshold evaluation and speech recognition" and "tympanometry and reflex threshold measurements." I understand that healthcare is expensive, but to put it in perspective the Jefferson chargemaster (list of procedures and their prices) for Jefferson "clinics" lists these SAME procedures for hundreds of dollars less (BEFORE insurance adjustments). This center is associated with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and is not considered a "clinic". I do not know why these procedures cost FIVE times more than providers within the same health network (Jefferson) and was unable to receive clarification on this after talking to the billing department on three separate occasions. One person I talked to said that it was so expensive because it's a "fee". I am extremely frustrated with how much time I have spent trying to understand the over priced cost of these procedures and warn others to do their research and find a provider that charges patients more reasonably. Had I known that my hearing test would cost me $1,200 out of pocket for a provider within my insurance network I would have never agreed. It would have cost me much less to go to a different provider in my network. ”

“What I liked was that he gave me good explanations and was able to use an alternative machine during the testing. I wish he had studied the machine a little more, he had to used an instruction sheet to use the instrument. I was a little disappointed by that but everything else was good.”

“We really enjoyed the experience - it was good! They were very nice, they answered all the questions that we had! I wear aids so I kind of have some experience with that. They were just very nice, the place was very clean. It was efficient. It was a very good experience. ”
