About this clinic

Our mission at Sound Advice Hearing Centers, Inc. is to provide access to quality hearing healthcare and solutions for better hearing. We offer full audiological services and a wide range of hearing products all delivered with the utmost professional care. We keep our products affordable through efficiencies of delivery and service while maintaining our primary focus of providing highest quality care for our patients' needs. Sound Advice Hearing Centers, Inc. is widely known for its comprehensive hearing and hearing aid services provided with old fashioned customer care. Founded in 1995 in Bridgewater, NH, Sound Advice Hearing Centers' staff now deliver products and services from four locations convenient not only to the Lakes Region, North Country, Interstate 89 and 93 corridors, but also the Seacoast. You will find Sound Advice Hearing Centers, Inc. in Plymouth, New London, Kendal at Hanover, and Rochester. Founder and president, Cheryl Kenney, has been a Hearing Instrument Specialist for over a decade in New Hampshire. She initially became interested in hearing and hearing aids when a family friend faced decisions about hearing loss and appropriate hearing health-care. Cheryl went on to establish Sound Advice Hearing Centers, Inc. Ms. Kenney's years as both a Health and Special Education teacher coupled with eight years of military service as an Army Reserve Medic prepared her for the professional hearing healthcare she now provides her patients. Veterans at the White River Junction VA Hospital were early recipients of her hearing testing services. Sound Advice Hearing Centers' abiding commitment, first and foremost, is to see that its patients achieve effective and enjoyable hearing and conversation. That goal spans an individual's communication environments which may include any or all of the following:

  • At home including television and telephone, and in dynamic family interactions
  • In business with co-workers and clients
  • In social get-togethers from dining out to school events and reunions with friends and family of all ages
  • At public performances and presentations from sports events to concerts
  • At various organization meetings, religious services, and in other day-to-day settings.

Because Sound Advice Hearing Centers, Inc. operates through its own independent business corporation, unlike a franchise, they work with a variety of hearing instrument manufacturers and are not limited to a fixed selection of available products from a single supplier. Led by Cheryl Kenney, the dedicated staff uses leading-edge technology to its fullest advantage and to your greatest benefit.

Clinic services

ASSESSMENT: Objective hearing testing to determine the nature and degree of your hearing loss. Subjective assessment of your needs and significant other's perceptions to establish and prioritize desired communication outcomes.

REFERRAL: If warranted, appropriate referral to a physician for more in-depth diagnostic work or medical intervention

EDUCATION/CONSULTATION: Discussion of your results and how the degree of loss and its configuration likely impacts your communication in various listening situations, from quiet one-to-one conversation to challenging social activities in significant noise.

SOLUTIONS: A selection process that considers the level of technology, sophistication, and features of various hearing instruments as they relate to your specific needs, not only for effective sound processing, but also for cosmetic, budget, and care considerations.

PRODUCTS:Hearing instruments individually programmed and fit to you with a full 45-day trial which includes routine return visits for program and fit adjustments until satisfaction is achieved. Multiple manufacturers' products are available, depending on decisions made by hearing instrument specialist/audiologist, you, the wearer, and significant others.

MANAGEMENT: Hearing aid cleaning and reprogramming for changes in hearing are always included in the cost of your hearing instrument at the time of purchase. Factory repairs are available for all manufacturers' products, no matter where the instrument was purchased. Assistive devices that will work as a free-standing device or in conjunction with a hearing instrument fitting are recommended when appropriate.
