Dr. Cynthia Erdos
Cynthia Erdos is an audiologist who rejoined the staff at Easter Seals in January 2017, this time in our Elgin location. Cynthia received her doctoral degree in audiology from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences. She has over 24 years of experience as a clinical audiologist with special interests in patient education and rehabilitation. She comes to us from Northwestern University where she worked as a clinical audiologist and supervised students in the Doctor of Audiology program. While at Northwestern, Dr. Erdos developed a group Aural Rehabilitation program aimed at educating and providing information to adults and their loved ones about hearing and hearing loss, hearing aids and personal sound amplifiers (PSAPs); communication strategies and self- advocacy. In addition to the AR program, Dr. Erdos began to develop a tinnitus management program at Northwestern based upon Progressive Tinnitus Management developed at the National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research. Dr. Erdos previously was a clinical faculty member at Northern Illinois University where she worked primarily with the pediatric population. There she helped manage the newborn hearing screening program, provided diagnostic hearing evaluations for infants who did not pass their hearing screening, and worked with Child and Family Connections and Northern Illinois Association providing hearing evaluation and amplification services for children 0-18. Cynthia enjoys working with both the pediatric and adult populations. She is thrilled to be back on the staff at Easter Seals where our mission is to enable infants, children, and adults with disabilities to achieve their maximum independence and to provide support for the families who love and care for them. With Cindy joining the team, the Audiology department of three Doctoral level Audiologists has over 67 years of experience.
