“Connecticut Hearing Solutions is located in the office of Associated Ears, Nose & Throat. They seem to pick and choose when they want to work with insurance and when they do not. For hearing aids they do not work with insurance companies; for everything else they seem to. The audiologist is very good, and pleasant to work with. I am happy with my hearing aids. The problem comes in insurance and billing. The office staff will tell you that they do not work with insurance companies and that you have to fill out your own insurance paperwork. This is even though your insurance may cover a visit to the doctors in the office (Associated Ears, Nose, and Throat) or the audiologist. Your visit to the doctor, your visit to the audiologist can be covered by insurance but hearing aids are NOT. Beware. My hearing aids cost $[a specific price] and my insurance company has an in-network negotiated rate for the hearing aids of $[half that price], then they pay a portion of that. While Associated Ears, Nose, and Throat is in my insurance network, Connecticut Hearing Solutions says they are not. They will not accept the negotiated, discounted rate because they do not work with insurance companies (even though for all other services in the same office, by the same doctor's and audiologists are covered). The audiologist’s card says “Associated Ears, Nose & Throat” on it, NOT Connecticut Hearing Solutions. What's the point? The point is that these hearing aids are costing me $[a specific amount] instead of $[much less than that amount]. I feel misled by the office staff. My advice? Find a doctor's office or company to work with that deals with insurance and is in your network. This is a costly surprise you do not want. ”
