“Mary Astorino did a hearing test on my 91 year old mother who has severe Alzheimer's. She was wonderful and kind, tried a few ways to get mom to communicate that she heard the sound, till she found one that worked. And was familiar enough with Moms problem to know she had to keep reminding her. Did not recommend the most pricey hearing aids only what was needed. ”

“I liked the part when they asked me to repeat what she said to me, and I'd repeat it, and when they asked where I could hear it the best and stuff.”

“I thought all the doctors and staff were all wonderful but I was charged individually for each service that they provided for me that day, all the different tests they did and then on top of being charged individually for each service, I was also charged for each visit. I only sat with the doctor for about five minutes and I got charged $125 dollars for him to tell me there's nothing wrong with my hearing. So I thought that was beyond expensive. If you're going to charge me for each individual service you shouldn't be charging me $125 dollars for the doctor to read the paper that no service is generated.”

Official Response from Ear Nose and Throat Associates:
“First, I would like to thank you for the kind words about our doctors and staff. I'm sorry that you were unhappy with our charges for the services provided. We do have set rates for office visits, which do not include charges for procedures or diagnostic testing, since not every patient requires the same type of management. We factor in the cost of the doctor's time, as well as the staff, to understand your symptoms, complete an examination, do any required testing and develop a treatment plan. We do not base our charges on the findings (it's a good thing when nothing is found!!). As specialists, we are confident that you receive a higher level of expertise and service. I hope this clears up the matter for you. Please call us if we can be of any further assistance. Thank you. Mitchell G. Azar Practice Administrator”
